Spraying over skin level scent later in the day?

Some days, I want to change up what I'm wearing at the office to something different in the evening, but am still getting a skin scent (even my 4-5 hour projectors still have a skin scent in 10-12). Would it create a dirty mix to spray fresh fragrance over a skin scent? Has anyone tried this?

The only reliable alternative is alcohol swabbing (that I've found) but obviously this crumbles if you "miss a spot." Thanks in advance for any help!

l do this all the time, & don't see a problem with it.

On the rare occasion that I apply a different scent in the evening than what I wear in the morning the only thing I have found that works for me is a good old fashioned hot shower and lathering to get rid of the first application.

Great, thanks hednic. Do you find that the scents mix without showering, even if the older scent is just skin-level at the time?

In my case they don't mix well and what is left on my skin is an indiscernible mess. That's why I don't do it.

I too prefer to shower between applications, but there are a few combinations that layer well.

I constantly do this. The newer fragrance usually overpowers the former, so it never actually "mixes."
People also do this with complimentary scents. For example, I have a friend (I do this too) who wears L'Homme during the day, and will spray on La Nuit a few hours later, when he goes out.

Never. I dislike smelling two perfumes.

I anyways have a shower after work.

There are products that are designed to remove odors and that you can spray on skin, which are apparently less abrasive than using alcohol. One thing you can try is spraying on your shirt with the first frag and then later in the day putting a new shirt on and spraying on skin or your new shirt. If the frag is colored it could stain the shirt, so in that case you could try some cheap handkerchiefs. Spray on it let it dry, then put in your breast pocket. I haven't tried that myself so if you do let us know how it works out.

Some scents work well with layering.

I always shower in between two scents and usually cleanse all the traces of a prior fragrance before applying a new one, but this is just my own method and frankly I don't see any harm in any other fragrance wearing habits.
