i got a sealed late 70s vintage diorella on ebay and i am simply in love with this gem. the current formulation is ok but nothing to get excited about - too citric, too generic. this, however, is...
BdP opens with a bang and ends in a whimper. After having read here and elsewhere that BdP is one of the best from Creed, I was hoping for a fragrance that was better than the sum of its parts....
At around 250 reviews and counting, it's hard to say much that's new about what had to have been one of the more astonishing introductions of it's time. Although the novelty may have worn off...
This review is for the EDT. I’m not going to break down the notes or rate it. Yes, this is Jean-Claude Ellena’s mainstream fragrance packed full of ISO E super; it smells good, but lacks subtly...
No 19 Poudre Chanel could be the shy, yet talented niece of Chanel 19. Auntie is wealthy (thanks to her own efforts) and has aged quite well; in fact, she takes a young lover from time to time,...
ShinyBeast, very nice to see you posting with us, girls here. I know you from MikieP's reports from Vegas.
Don't even know why, I will continue my languid liquers today in Guerlain Parure. I do not show it in My Collection (since I have never had a BNIB bottle), but let me admit: I have 4 partials here. Every single one with its own personality, history and nuances. Which brings me again to the question: why do not I post more reviews in the Directory? How can I, all right? 4 reviews?
SOTD is Robert Piguet Visa. Such a voluptuous, enveloping fragrance.
Notes include white vineyard peach, pear, violet leaves, Italian bergamot, yellow mandarin, ylang ylang, rose, immortelle, orange flower absolute, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, moss, vanilla beans, benzoin and a gourmand leathery accord
Good morning everyone! I'm wearing Demeter Gingerale today.
I have to take Mom to her geriatric psychiatrist for a scheduled followup this morning. She has been more confused than usual this week, angry and even threatening. She wakes me up in the morning and calls late in the evening. I've been losing sleep...
Hopefully she will settle down again.
Oooo, look at them violets. That leaf in the lower left corner looks like that of the American wild geranium, which also flowers in spring. I could almost believe spring is here. The weather has been extraordinarily warm and sunny.
(((30R))) Truly feel for you and Mom.
(((Sophie))) Ouchie! Tdem, you're so easy on the eyes. Bond No. 9 Mothers.Got too many complaints from the mister yesters about Nan Green, so have to wear something he likes today.
Healing hugs to RHM & Sophie and 30R & family. Hope everyone is o.k.
Sampling the 2009 Guerlain Liu re-issue today, this is lovely and has earned a spot in the aldehyde sample pass I'm putting together. A bit like a more herbal No.5. Gorgeous rose and jasmine, would love a bottle of this.
Well, the best fragrance that I discovered today is Penhaligons Sartorial. Crikey, this is good! Fabulous development which holds interest and the drydown is gorg. Buuuuuut, much as I like my masculines this is one for the boys I think!
Todays SOTD has tempted me to dig out my sample of Bandit for this evening.
Baptised my bottle of Montale Intense Tiare today. Just gorgeous lush, exotic, sunshiny fragrance which garnered compliments from almost everyone I spoke to today, male and female. Even My Ali said "Mmmm.... That smells nice" which from him is massively enthusiastic
It's me again! Friends, I can not tell you a lie. I thought that I had a sample of Bandit Hmmmm, so I am a bit discombobulated to discover that I did not have said Bandit. But, I do have Visa, so Visa it is, and triplets I am, with tdem1961 and ExtremeK.
I'm wearing Tocca Stella today. I recently won a FB of this from one of the perfume blogs ... I've been wanting it for a while because not only is it a very nice scent, Stella was my late Grandmother's name. I took my mom in for some minor knee surgery today and I'm just now getting home. It's been a long day ...
Hugs back to all. Mom's calmer now and so I'm feeling more hopeful too.
Of course the dementia is only going to get worse, but I can handle it when the decline is gradual. It's those occasional, unexpectedly bad days that get to me.
Hubs had an interview today and got the job! My favorite part..when he asks me what tie he should wear and scent, *swoon*..he looked like a million bucks..but better, lol. Of course he would get the job. Something about a new hair cut and a suit and a tie with a bit of scent..dig it. We don't know how much he's going to make but they want him signed on.
Feeling very blessed, a job for Christmas..I will be thanking God even more this year.
I'm lovin those flower pictures. I miss my violets from my old house greatly. Most wildflowers where I currently live tend to be yellow. A favorite exception of mine is the purple Tahoka Daisy. If anyone wants seeds, lemme know. Drought resistant they are!
Kalli, I wore Hypnotic Poison today too, but not the Elixir. I actually wanted to wear it *yesterday*, but kept myself spanking clean so I could test drive Bieber's Girlfriend, which I rather liked! I will try to post my review tonight.
