Perfect Cologne For You - Except One Thing?

Greetings:

I have been away for a while, its good to be back.

As I write this, I am currently going through my second fairly generous 9 ml decant of a particular fragrance.

I was wondering if you can think of a fragrance which would otherwise be perfect for you, except for one of its features. To qualify, you would likely rush out and buy a full bottle right now, except for one (or more if you wish) feature(s) in its development which ruins it for you.

For me, Creed Himalaya

I love everything about it, especially the exquisite orange opening. However, I will never be able to live with the overly metallic notes in the drydown.

TF Grey Vetiver. The synthetic rubber glove note in the middle ruins an otherwise perfect fragrance.

Musc Ravaguer. Would have been sexy and pleasant had it not been for that damn clove note.

Clive Christian # 1 Pure Parfum - Love everything about it except the price I had to pay to get it.

The cilantro note in Egoiste ruined it for me, I hate eating the stuff and didn't find it anymore appealing in my fragrances.

I can smell a synthetic latex note in Tom Fords Oud Wood and I just cannot live with it, apart from that I like the fragrance.

D&G The One; it just doesn't last, at all.

+1...same goes for Cologne Noire by Van Cleef & Arpels.

As for the scents--F pour Homme Black = too much lavender.........Noir de Noir = a TAD too much rose (I keep going back-and-forth on this one...right now, it's a little too much rose for me).

LIDGE is darn near perfect to me....it's just not something I'll wear much in warmer weather, however. But, for fall, winter & early spring, I really can't find fault with it.

+2 Cologne Noir, I love that stuff, but ......

Sunday Cologne Byredo: beautiful opening, hate the incense dry down...

Tam Dao - There's a pesky vanilla note in there...

+1

Also, I hear people rave about Dior Homme Intense...but the sample I had seemed weak and uninteresting.

There are many but the first that came to my mind is:

The lasting is very poor else this is a gem, at least for me. I just love this one...

Wow...I haven't come across too many people that know/have tried that one. It was the first frag that both my wife and I fell in love with. I even considered getting it and just enjoying it for the couple hours it was around...until I saw the price tag

Yes, Teach13, I've stalked it many times this past year. In fact I'm a department store hound dog. I will probably get arrested soon for vagrancy. Buying Cologne Noir some time in the future is not entirely out of the question.

if you could afford 1000 colognes, i would figure this one wouldn't be too much of a problem

Creed Royal Water- on me, the scents smell more plain aquatic and with more sour watermelon notes, than even ADG.
