Joop Homme vintage vs current version

First off, I know that the old version had "Homme" under "Joop" while the new one has "Homme" on top. My question is, is there a difference in smell between the two? I've only found a couple threads on this. I have the "vintage" version and actually really enjoy it. Thinking of trying out the new version. For those that have smelled both versions, what are the differences, if any?

They both smell the same to me - quite awful IMO.

Smell the same way. So strong that one cant really discern subtle differences. Quite nice, if polarising, IMO.

More for me. One less person wearing it. Thank you.

I bought the new version and I think it is slightly weaker (which I think is a vast improvement). But outside of that, I think they smell so similar you wouldn't notice a significant difference.

I agree the new version by Coty is a little weaker as I no longer sneeze when I first spray it I've also noticed it will fade from clothing after time. Don't get me wrong the impact is still there but not like 20 years ago.

the first one was pretty screechy. If they toned it down and rounded it a bit, it would be an improvement. I liked it, but it's unsubtle and a little harsh.

That's a shame, Joop! Homme is absolutely gorgeous - my fave scent on a man. When did the change happen? Is that why it's on sale everywhere?

It's hard to imagine that Joop! Homme actually used to be stronger.

Believe it my fellow BN. I have been a fan of Joop Homme since it was first released. It was very, very, very strong back in the day. Projection and sillage were beast. Nowadays you are wearing Joop's younger, light weight brother.

I have the vintage version, this stuff is powerful. I sprayed one spray on my shirt and one on the back of my neck at around 9:30 PM last night. It's now 7 PM the next day and I can still smell it, 22 hours later.

After I wore the vintage version I noticed that the residue on my shirt, that I'd thrown to the ground, made my whole bedroom smell strongly of Joop Homme. So I decided to see how long this went on for. 12 days later I tired of waiting for the shirt to stop emitting Joop, and threw the shirt in the washing machine. It still smelled a bit of Joop after it came out and was ironed.
Cheers,
Renato

Wait a minute...what does the vintage look like? Mine says JOOP! and under it, "HOMME". Like this:

JOOP!
HOMME

Is that the new one or the old one?

Vintage Joop Homme will say distributed by Lancaster. Also your sprayer will have the Joop cornflower logo engraved onto it. Once Coty took over Lancaster they started cheapen things ...the scent ...the cap ...the box...the sprayer.
Mine has none of that. New Joop is all I've ever known.
I have smelled and tested both and sense no difference or, at least, no perceptible one, but then again my nose may be untrained.

Mesaboogie, you have the current version. My vintage version has the "Homme" near the top of the bottle with "Joop!" below it. Here's what mine looks like:

Is this the one you have?

I have the Vintage with Homme at the top end of the bottle. Nearly finished, would like to add another bottle of Vintage in collection before they disappear.

Yes. Mine looks like that one. Is the original really stronger that this one? B/c this one would probably melt my face off if I wore more than 1 spray on my neck.

I've never tried the one you have, but the vintage one is excessively strong. I sprayed one spray to my shirt and one to the back of my neck and it felt like it was projecting for 8+ hours. I usually stop smelling my fragrances after a few hours, but not with this one.
