Epic sample order: what else do I need for a fuller education?

So I'm putting together an order from TPC. Since I live in a country with ridiculous import taxes, it's a rare opportunity for me to put together a sizable order and have a US-located relative who's coming home for Christmas bring the package over to me. Therefore I want to make this a proper order, grabbing all the most talked-about and intriguing things that I haven't tried before. So far I have:

Chanel Coromandel
Chanel Sycomore
Eau de Guerlain
L'Occitane Eau des Baux
Tom Ford Noir de Noir
A*Men Pure Malt
Aramis Havana
L'Air du Desert Marocain
Guerlain Derby
Knize Ten
PdN New York

My question to you is: What am I missing, here? I've already ordered several well-known and much-discussed fragrance samples from TPC (you can see them in my sample wardrobe), and this order is feeling pretty complete, but there have to be some that I'm forgetting.

You have a good list there for sure, but there are really way too many to mention others that you are missing (and a list is never complete, including my own). That said, no list is complete IMO without two of the greatest masculine marketed scents ever released in Patou pour Homme and Patou pour Homme Privé. I would start there...

I believe your list is but a fraction of the tip of an iceberg. But hey, taking the time to discover new fragrance loves is what makes this hobby addictive...and expensive. Happy sniffing!

Looks great so far.

No Serge Lutens or Parfumerie Generale?

Thanks for the great suggestions so far, guys! Added a bunch of these

Hedonist, I'm kind of saving those for later. I've tried a few Serge Lutens already and it seems their house accord just doesn't quite agree with me. Just a little too heavy in general, though unmistakably top quality. Five O' Clock au Gingembre is probably my favorite of theirs so far.

Parfumerie Generale I just simply haven't tried at all, or even looked at in any detail. Can you recommend anything in particular?

As others have recommended fragrances I will speak on something else which is your ordering from TPC.

You stated that your relative will be home in your country for Christmas, Christmas is only 18 days away. I am not entirely sure that your package will be delivered within that time frame. It takes more than a week to receive confirmation that your order has been fulfilled and it takes even longer for them to ship.

They are not a bad company by any means, they used to be remarkable with shipping orders no more than two days after the orders were placed, but after the ladies partied ways, they aren't near as efficient with processing orders.

Just felt that this is information that you may want to take into consideration being as though your are on somewhat of a time constraint.

I agree with FrostyIcy - I place orders quite often with TPC. They are very professional, and have a very low shipping price, but you will usually wait at least 7 days before it ships out, and then several more days (depending on where they are going) to receive it.

As far as where you should look for additional samples... That is a difficult question to answer, as it is all personal preference. However, you may want to continue looking into Bond No. 9 (I see you have some, but some of the best from that house (IMO) are missing). Also, the Armani Prive line is top notch, you may want to look at getting samples of those. You could also give some offerings from Keiko Mecheri a try - very underrated and mostly unnoticed, but very nice gems in there. There are so many others I would mention, but I see other people have already mentioned some of these.

Enjoy the journey and good luck getting your samples in time!
