The search coe skank and body chemistry

I wear some perfumes that are a bit dirty. A favorite is Leather Aoud for one exaple. Last week I went into a store whose sales associate I trust. She smelled a fragrance on me (name does not matter) and proclaimed that this dirty scent smelled sweet on me and that "you wear scents well because they turn sweet on you". Maybe that explains why I always want to find something truly skanky. Have not found the perfect skank yet. The search continues.

How does your chemistry effect scents? Does anyone else experience this? I guess I am a sweet guy.

It seems to have no effect on fragrances I wear.

I'm not sure how others perceive it on me, but just about everything smells far sweeter to me when I apply it to my skin than when I smell it on blotters, etc.

That said, I'm on the fence about Leather Oud - It may be just a bit too skanky for me. I might have to work out the best application method for me, or just put it aside for a while and see whether my changing/maturing tastes change my outlook on it.

I tried Leather Aoud for the first time last week. I used a concentrated spray on my hand. Unfortunately, I did not find it skanky. Maybe it needs to be misted?

I didn't get much from this either. It's bitter and challenging, but I didn't get much of the civet people talk about. Then again, I'm used to Jicky, Ungaro II, etc.

I'm only just starting to make my way from clean and woody scents into sampling things that are a bit more animalic, which might explain why I find Leather Oud to be a bit skanky.

I think I might have a way to go until I'm hitting the Jicky, etc.

I never was comfortable with skanky scents, yet on the other hand, disparate moderately skanky notes in certain scents (e.g. the aforementioned Ungaro II), are surprisingly delightful to me.

However, I could never get myself to wear and/or like, for instance, Kouros (nothing against anyone who could pull off this one easily and effortlessly).

Seriously, why don't you get the animalic coffret from Abdes Salaam Profumo?

When your body heat rises because of the heat then the civet in this scent comes alive and projects in a way you would not have anticipated.lol
