Jubilation XXV or Jubilation 25

Oh well after reading up more on Jubilation, I am even more confused than I started.

There are two Jubilation(s) out there one for males which is XXV and one for females 25 and I see men using them both.

What are your views on XXV vs 25?

They have the same name but they are quite different. I own Jub XXV, a radiant pure frankincense. That's the one that is talked about the most in this forum. The 25, if I remember correctly, is a sweet floral chypre, very good too, and good for men as well, as most Amouage, but different.

I own and love both. Yes, the XXV (masculine) is indeed a radiant frankincense while the 25 is a old-fashioned thick spicy chypre with animalic-resiny undertones. Both well worth exploring but in order to like 25 you have to be fine with extremely classic french compositions.

They're both worth owning, and other than sharing Jubilation in the name, rather different. I think Jubilation XXV is probably easier to love and a better place to start though.

For me, Jubilation XXV is breathtaking. It was the first fragrance I loved at first smell.

Bought both at the same time, as Wifey and i were passing through an airport. Had a good chance to test both side by side throughout the 7 hour flight. Alfarom nailed the comparisons perfectly. I love both but prefer XXV.

Are there any known problems with Jubilation XXV? I am looking to buy but without decent longevity or silage/projection it would be a deal breaker afraid.

The Jubilations are completely different: XXV is an incense oriental, while 25 is an ambery chypre. Both are great.

Jubilation XXV is the easiest to like but I find Jubilation 25 far superior.

Jub XXV is not loud, but has great radiance (as most Duchafours), that is, it fills the room with a discreet but perceptible scent; and lasts a very long time on me.

I tried 25 and its magical, i cant believe XXV can be better:-)

25 transforms from bitter-smoky top to sweet -fresh floral bottom, nothing old fashioned at all, it smells modern, but feels classic because of those transformations and complexity

I dont get any fruits there, nor animalic notes, its the opposite, always somehow fresh, even clean but florals feel fleshy! Not synthetic! Only in the late drydown its ambery

Bottom line, I don't see XXV being talked about 20 years from now; 25 on the other hand... That being said, they are both quality fragrances and miles ahead of most modern releases.

Haha. I just bought Memoir and Lyric last month, and am really considering this one now. How are you enjoying Epic so far?
