Good day, everyone. Brrr, it's freezing out there but sunny for now.

I'll be staying indoors most of the day, preparing shipments, etc., enveloped in the fumes of Portrait of a Lady.

Hello, my name is Quarry, and I am a landscape-aholic.
I could--I should--get some things done inside today. The ground is frozen outside, so it's time to put away the shovel. But I can't bear to stay inside. I could prune raspberries, I guess. Somebody stop me!

In trying to chose a scent direction, I applied dots of TF Black Orchid, Kilian Prohibited, AdP Iris Nobile, and vintage Shalimar edc. A bit of a mess, but not really bad.

Good morning! It's a cold and gray day so far and looks like it will stay that way, only getting up to +6 today. I'm looking forward to this afternoon, I'm going Christmas shopping with one of my sons and it was his idea, which makes it even better!!

SotM is Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir.

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

I am wearing a violet perfume oil that I bought ages ago at a perfume shop in Seaside, Florida. I like its simplicity and subtlety. It's not "too" anything.

It's made by Nectarine; their perfume oils are wholesaled to vendors who put their private labels on them. But I've contacted them to find out who sells their products in my area (my mother loves their Bergamot perfume oil so I keep her supplied.) If anyone is interested, here's their website: http://www.nectarine.biz/products/pr...ragrances.html

Vetiver by Zara from a new bottle (thanks Joe!)

Oh, wow, the MarchingFourth Marching Band show was GREAT last night. I am still dancing to the CD in the car this morning And, yes, Twolf, the "citrus" part was alot of fun too

Sampling today, SL Vetiver Oriental, which I find very warm and just enough vetiver (it is not my favorite note).

Sounds fun, cello! Glad you had a great time!

Have fun shopping with your boy, Kiliwia! He sounds like a sweetie!

Sampling Crabtree & Evelyn roses today, a bit of Evelyn from 1993 and the 2012 Evelyn Rose. Probably no surprise, the older one wins with me.

Good Evening,

Chanel Cuir de Russie extrait.

Best to all.

Beach Girl, what do you think about that one? I'm not an oud girl, but I keep wanting to explore the note more, and I was looking at some of the "softer" Micallef ones to dip a toe in, like the gourmet or the Vanille Oud.

Jon, that is a stunning cat. Just mesmerizing.

Good evening my lovelies. Sotm was Fracas which has lurked in my wardrobe for 10 years waiting for the right time to wear it. So "beggar it" thought I and sprayed delicately for work. No one ran screaming from the unit. SotA was vintage Tabu EdC stunning! Today I needed opulence

Hello!

I've been craving Ivoire de Balmain since southerngardens inquired about it, so I'm in a few dabs of the luscious vintage parfum this afternoon ...which allows me the further pleasure of posting one of Wolfie's favorite print ads.

Hello all. Wore Bulgari Black today.
Thank you, E., I simply love it -- just like Ivoire itself -- one image saves the unnecessary thousand words. Like it is all here: the script, the emotion, the tensions, the costumes, etc.

C., glad you had good time. That's the best thing about live concerts -- they energize you.

Testing Ineke Hothouse Flower, green and sweet, with Inekeaide and done in Alfred Sung style.

Leather Oud by Dior
Hermes Eau des Merveilles.

It is far more floral (mainly lily of the valley and, perhaps, a touch of hyacinth) and less citrusy than I would expect based on the description. Could it be a matter of skin chemistry, or is it more likely my sample (from Hermes) is mislabelled? Regardless, I am smitten.

Hi cello, I can smell very little oud in this one. Perhaps a little at the beginning, but it quickly becomes a sweet, woody honey scent that is quite delicious. If you are looking to try an oud fragrance you might want to dip your toe into something else, perhaps the Vanille Oud you mentioned, although I am not familiar with that one yet. I've been sampling oud based perfumes for the last 4 days and have come to absolutely adore the scent.
