Hello all. Have to go shopping with a friend, yes she is doing her Christmas shopping!!!!! At least its not Christmas Eve this years. So wafting Daim Blond and wearing sensible shoes.

Last day of work for me, too. The security guard just told me the building shuts at 4.00pm, which is just fine as far as I'm concerned

i am wearing Vanilia....yellow yilang yilang and non gourmand vanilla could smell it only when applied

Best wishes to all who is enjoying their last working day of the year (10 day vacation? Yeah, baby!). I will be working 9 more days this year with only one day off, today is being the longest of them all.

My yesterday's discovery was Trans-Siberian Orchestra with their interpretations of Christmas songs and carols. From under my rock...... moved me to tears.

Hehe PerfumedLady so true!!:-)

I just tried iso e super aromachemical :-) , the only thing i can smell in my condition is immediately when i spray it, and i liked it:-) i think my beloved last winter fragrance has a lot of it , thanks to dear Irina who pointed this out:-) its Timbuktu.

Today I gave the first, real, full wearing of Gomma: I love it!

L'Heure Vertueuse by Cartier (from a sample)



Gosh, this stuff is fantastic. Really medicinal, sharp lavender and green(s) without being too woody or synthetic at all...it smells extremely natural, holistic and it's luxuriously simple. Very captivating.

I have a birthday cake to make for my 17 yr. old! She always wants the same thing: a 4 layer chocolate cake (I just use a boxed mix) with homemade peppermint buttercream icing. This cake is all about the icing, LOL. I use peppermint oil for it, not an alcohol-based flavor.

It's been a hectic week and I've been off my perfume. Maybe I will feel like resuming tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to 30R's rosette! Goodness, that cake sounds *fantastic*!

Thanks to all the well-wishers and additional thanks to Twolf and Jon for the good laughs! My tastebuds are so done with chicken broth even though they (and my sniffer) are not yet working properly. I was craving a pizza loaded with meat last night, so I know I must be starting to mend.

I'm still wicked stuffy and congested and coughing but otherwise feel pretty decent. I didn't do any fragrance yesterday, but my BF's Christmas present arrived from Barney's today (Iris Poudre) along with a few more Malle samples. So I'm in Angelique Sous La Pluie this morning. The cedar, cumin, and pink pepper are very well-balanced, and the juniper adds a nice, sharp freshness. But, as with all JC Ellena fragrances on me, I applied less than 30 minutes ago, and it's nearly gone. Sigh. Such a lovely fragrance but far too fleeting for the $$$.

Continuing with JC Ellena, I am Malle L'eau d'Hiver for the evening. I've tried this one before at the Barney's in Vegas and in SF, but it's never done anything for me. I was expecting more "meh" this evening. But, wow! I'm really enjoying it!

I swear, my nose is changing, or it craves very different things in the winter. I have never (NEVER, I tell you) been able to wear iris, heliotrope, or powdery fragrances of any kind, but I find myself *very* drawn to some powdery fragrances this winter, including Mazzolari Lei, PG Intrigant Patchouli, and now L'eau d'Hiver. Maybe I should sneak some of the BF's Iris Poudre to see how far this 180 is going.

Perhaps relatedly, I find myself unable to wear anything overtly musky this winter, including Musk Ravageur. I'm even struggling with the musk dry-down in Ava Luxe Madeline, which should hit the bullseye for me during the holidays. Sigh.

At least I still love my ambers and vanillas. On the bright side, I guess it's something for me to explore, right? Perhaps an Iris Silver Mist sample?

Sorry guys, I'm not in synch today. I had to wear Fumerie Turque today ... One sniff of FT and I knew I would be owning a full bottle someday. Lucky for me, it joined the export line. I think the first day it was available, I was ringing up Barneys and having them ship a bottle to me. No regrets, I love it to bits.

Happy Friday and happy vacation to all who are off work for the holidays.

Started in She-Wolf, ended in SSS Sienna Musk. Unlike ExtremeK, I am digging the musks today I guess. It is *way* too cold here right now, and these really shine in the colder weather. Sienna Musk isn't 'warm' to me, exactly, it has a refreshingness, but it's definitely more suited to the cold.

Came from work. The nerve some people have plotting the reasons to be with their families -- not with the co-workers and job-responsibilities -- this festive season. Grrrrrrrrrrr........ No, I am not working 16+16 hours each day, nononono.

Changed into one spray of Mauboussin and will be off to bed in a few.
