i will give my review before looking at the note breakdown on this one,,,,,i smell light cumin or coumarins, light leather and musk..though i applied this one lightly.....has a musty dank note i cant out my finger on....reminds me of my friends dank basement with a musty couch where we used to play origional nintendo on...you know the one where you would have to blow on the cartridge for it to work...i think i left my copy of contra over there back in 1989....not in a bad way...i hate to admit it but something was enjoyable about this frag...cant put my finger on it.

Indeed

A little too strong for me. Less is better with this one.

I love it because it smells like an Hotel Soap Bar, really transient and easily sexy, my gf hates it...but I love it all the same!

I love the stuff...

Wore it when it was first released and just revisited it last week.

Not too shabby. Certainly a wearable if slightly formal work scent.

This is absolutely my #1. How you can get "musky, dank basement" out of it is beyond me.
This is a classy and extremely masculine frag.

Nice well done fragrance but very formal.

I adore this fragrance. I wear it whenever I appear in court.

Unless my nose is wrong, I think it has a dusky rose undertone, and I usually hate rose in a man's scent.

One positive, to me, is that VC&A is totally unique, and many people are not used to smelling something like it in an increasingly aquatic world.

Thanks for the review of a fragrance that I truly admire.

I like your description of a great fragrance. I can see someone thinking this smelling like a leather couch in a basement. Oh yeah NES rocks, but God those games were hard that was when they didn't want you to win.

Hi, everyone. I have a question: I just ordered a mini bottle of VC&A PH on eBay (www.ebay.com/itm/310417762025), which I assume is the original formulation. I'm only 30 and not a fan of dated scents, like Eau Sauvage and Chanel Pour Monsieur. Is there more chance that I won't like VC&A as well?

Of course there's a chance you won't like it. Look at the reviews. Some guys give it a negative rating.
But I'd be surprised if you didn't like it. It is a clean-smelling, very masculine frag. It does not have any of the heavy tobacco or patchouli notes that make some other powerhouse/maculine frags a bit rough, and unwearable for some.
VCA PH is my personal favorite. I would pay much more for it than it currently sells for. Plus it has excellent longevity.

I agree...

One of the very best. A light trigger finger is advised with this one.

Thanks for your reply. I should receive my vintage mini bottle later this week, and I'll give my input once I've given it a full wearing or two.
