Is it obligatory that all people who purchase Creed have to purchase this also?

Not that I'm aware, but someone on here will so they can post a photo and enjoy the tingle they get in their tail from all the back-slapping.

That's how oneupmanship works.

Good God, that is the most depressing thing I have ever seen. I'm really disappointed Creed is pandering to the "I'm rich and . . . fuck you, I'm rich, that's all" crowd. Its prices are already high enough (too high for me, really).

There must be a market out there - somewhere.

So true. If someone out there wants to spend the money for this, all power to them. It is their money, and they can do what they want with it.

I have some magic beans for sale.

Robbery without a gun!

Some people's egos need the boost to have this on the vanity.

One is also free to enjoy his 18K nail file.

I'd consider this, but that money could be spent on paying for my dogs' wedding, or gold plating my faucets' handles.

Guerlain also offer their Bee Bottles in gold leaf with engraved initials for significant additional fee. For CREED, I prefer the standard Royal Exclusives bottles and would rather spend the money on other things. Although, I don't seen anything wrong with providing consumers choice.

A fool and his money are some party.

Personalized bottles Creed, really?! Le Labo says "meh".

Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with it, either. If people are willing to spend it, Creed is willing to satisfy them. It's just very . . . I don't know, gross . . . that people are spending so much on a meaningless personalization.

Kinda reminds me of what Salvador Dali did at the end of his life, when he autographed thousands upon thousands of blank pieces of paper onto which a company later silkscreened his works. When he was asked about it, Dali said something like: "If an unscrupulous seller is willing to put an inferior likeness of my genius on a piece of scrap paper that I sign, and an idiotic buyer is willing to pay good money for that inferior image, they deserve each other."

P.T. Barnum, said, "A sucker is born every minutes." Then again, it's all personal choice on whether to be suckered.

I don't see a problem with this. Is really isn't much different from Bond No. 9 offering Swarovski crystal versions of their bottles. Many manufacturers offer specialty items. Would I buy this? No. But why the hate? They are simply offering a product. If you don't want it or can't afford it, don't buy it.

I personally have many other things to do with my money, and don't display my bottles anyway. But for those with plenty of disposable income, this is an option. I see way more money being spent on sculptures and paintings that are far uglier that this.
