Which do you prefer and why?
MiP because it is BB perfected.
Bulgari Black. More interesting, less expensive and ultimately far more satisfying. MIP is ok but, doesnt beat Black.
Black just because it came first.

MIP. It has a little of BB in it plus a little more from start to finish!
Midnight in Paris - much better formulated IMO.
There is a kind of a tradeoff here. BB is more original and edgy, but MiP is much more refined and better constructed IMO

First come, first love..

Rubber is an added bonus; love that smell of new tires!

Black, because I think it smells better and I find it much more wearable...

I've spent a HUGE amount of time with both and can definitely say they're different enough to justify owning both. MiP is my evening out scent or even works well with a suit. BB is my jeans and sneakers scent I mostly use for casual/daytime situations. Both are very active in my rotation especially in the colder weather now.

I wear BB in the spring and summer and MiP EDP in the fall and winter.

Midnight In Paris, edp, all the way.

Midnight In Paris, edp, all the way.

The tea note in BB is better

MIP lasts longer on my skin.

MiP based on the bottle alone! But also it smells better.

This. I like both but MIP just seems more refined to me.

Do you have the EDT or EDP? I can't find the EDP on any UK based website or shop.
I know it probably has better longevity, but I see myself mainly wearing MiP as an evening scent so perhaps I don't even need the longevity of the EDP version.

I have the EDT but I get 6-8 hours from it anyway so I have no real need for the EDP.

Burnt rubber or cloying synthetic leather...
Neither!

MIP ( i'm sorry i can't get EDP , I need him to last longer on me ).
MIP by a huge margin, simply because at a certain stage in Bulgari Black's development, if LITERALLY evokes a rubber tire smell, I mean it's instantly recognizable.

I prefer Bvlgari Black, by a wide margin. I own Black and have a large sample of Midnight In Paris.

Yes, they have a bit of similarity, but they definitely do not smell the same. MiP smells like a halfway point between BB and Armani Code, with a nod toward the feminine rather than the masculine, though it's absolutely unisex. That's ironic since Bvlgari Black is the one listed as unisex, not MiP, but Black smells far more masculine to me than MiP. To me, Black smells more mischievous. It smells darker and perhaps naughtier. It's more of an evening scent. I love it.

Both BB and MiP are excellent, and both are surprisingly affordable, but I choose (and love) Black. I wouldn't be surprised if many love them both, and I can completely understand why some will prefer MiP. As I said, they're both excellent, and they're both underpriced in my opinion. Without a doubt, they are different enough to be worth owning both.

Only place in UK that you will find EDP is Harrods, and only in store, not online. I've looked everywhere and even contacted VC&A

Mip edp

MiP is BB with all the most interesting notes taken out of it. MiP is for those who prefer something safe.
MiP for me
Midnight in Paris EDP.

As someone mentioned, it's BB perfected. With layers of other creamy notes accompanying the rubber accord which is done beautifully.
With BB, all I get is burnt rubber, rubber and rubber. Ugh
post #29 of 30
BB wins for me. It is darker, a bit edgier with more of the burnt rubber. MiP is sweeter, softer an more feminine to my nose

MiP hands down. theres something in Black that I just cant explain why I utterly dislike it. it smells like a michelin factory
