Words cannot begin to express how much I love Coromandel, but I'll try. It's sweet and savory, classic and modern, sophisticated and easy going. I'm not sure that I have a signature scent, but if...

Chanel does it again for me. When I heard that this was a lemon fragrance, I assumed that it would be sharp and bracing. However, it is so smooth and creamy. I think that these elements are what...

I normally dislike powdery fragrances, but Habit Rouge is a huge exception. The citrus burst balances the powder which makes it feel both fresh and luxurious. The leather is very subtle to me,...

Aroma: Quite fresh for an amber fragrance. The opening notes of green mandarin and bergamot definitely lighten the richness of the warmer notes and keep Ambre Nue firmly aligned with the cologne...

Well, part of my problem with participating, Shiny Beast, is that my listening habits have changed. You're partly to blame.
I listen more to individual songs and cued in by YouTube recommendations. I've discovered more music through YouTube through all the videos they delete because of copyright infringements. As a result, I don't really listen to albums anymore, per se.With that, I must say, I really enjoyed Born Gold's "Body Songs" album. That's the only album I've listened to in its entirety in 2012 and enjoyed every single track.

For 2012, "Good Kid Madd City" by Kendrick Lamar is, in my opinion, the best album of the year.
While rap is far from my favorite genre of music, and I listen to many different genres, I think this rap album deserves the award.
I feel many of the long-running artists are running out of creativity and innovation, where this album comes off as a strong debut. It is redolent of music in the past, but adapts well to modern standards. The album is not only catchy and radio-friendly, but it also tells a story and paints an image, sometimes with flippant humor and other times with grim realism.

Think of them more as starting points rather than finish lines.

Cool, that album was on the list, and it's on my short list of things to check out.

After looking at several best-of 2012 lists, I did some homework and found 2012 had some pretty damn good things to offer. One of which was Swans - The Seer. It runs contrary to the your idea (I understand you don't mean all artists, it's just a counterpoint for the sake of discussion) that artists are running out of ideas. Almost 20 years into their career they dropped a gem, which IMHO is the best album of 2012. It's dark, atmospheric, and heavy and if you're not in the mood or don't feel like committing the time, this isn't the album to listen to. That said, here it is, judge for yourself...or don't, lolz.
Yeah, I know, but it was a game where you add and subtract points based on what you liked/disliked and with no movement for days, it would've taken a year to see how it shook out.

Yes, love it!
Another good one - though technically a re-issue: Carole King Legendary Demos. A mind-blowing trip for anyone who has even the slightest interest in the history of 20th century pop music. For people who just like a good tune now and then - dig in. It's great stuff.
