It's not leathery like Knize Ten, Cuirnde Russe and Bandit. It's a sweet'ish violets, cardamom & leather with a subtle myrrh & sandalwood dry down.
I enjoyed the opening & dry down more than the...
Oh, c'mon, this is one of most lovely Guerlain creations... The drydown has a slightly powdery vanilla, which I love... Very delicate... A citrus raspberry sorbet enhanced with a extremely...
This fragrance is the kitchen-sink of men's retro fragrances.
Top Notes:
Aldehydes, Aniseed, Basil, Bergamot, Galbanum, Caraway, Lavender, Sage, Juniper...
A very well blended vanilla, high quality stuff, with hints of orchid and dark chocolat, sometimes it reminds me of Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle, in the drydown. Must try! I really like it!
I recently discovered this beauty and I immediately fell in love with it. Omg what a gorgeous smell... It's very like the original, but this is sweeter, creamier, and more intense... The benzoin...

Well, part of my problem with participating, Shiny Beast, is that my listening habits have changed. You're partly to blame. I listen more to individual songs and cued in by YouTube recommendations. I've discovered more music through YouTube through all the videos they delete because of copyright infringements. As a result, I don't really listen to albums anymore, per se.
With that, I must say, I really enjoyed Born Gold's "Body Songs" album. That's the only album I've listened to in its entirety in 2012 and enjoyed every single track.
For 2012, "Good Kid Madd City" by Kendrick Lamar is, in my opinion, the best album of the year.
While rap is far from my favorite genre of music, and I listen to many different genres, I think this rap album deserves the award.
I feel many of the long-running artists are running out of creativity and innovation, where this album comes off as a strong debut. It is redolent of music in the past, but adapts well to modern standards. The album is not only catchy and radio-friendly, but it also tells a story and paints an image, sometimes with flippant humor and other times with grim realism.

Think of them more as starting points rather than finish lines. Or don't. What am I, a referee?

Thanks for the heads up!

Cool, that album was on the list, and it's on my short list of things to check out.

After looking at several best-of 2012 lists, I did some homework and found 2012 had some pretty damn good things to offer. One of which was Swans - The Seer. It runs contrary to the your idea (I understand you don't mean all artists, it's just a counterpoint for the sake of discussion) that artists are running out of ideas. Almost 20 years into their career they dropped a gem, which IMHO is the best album of 2012. It's dark, atmospheric, and heavy and if you're not in the mood or don't feel like committing the time, this isn't the album to listen to. That said, here it is, judge for yourself...or don't, lolz.

Yeah, I know, but it was a game where you add and subtract points based on what you liked/disliked and with no movement for days, it would've taken a year to see how it shook out.
THis may sound funny (being that I am a 42 year old straight man) but Believe by Justin Bieber is my all time favorite album purchase of 2012. I would suggest the extended version as there are a few fantastic "extras" there.
Well, if you had to rely on Most Listened To in 2012, it would definitely be Lux by Brian Eno.
Yes, love it!
Another good one - though technically a re-issue: Carole King Legendary Demos. A mind-blowing trip for anyone who has even the slightest interest in the history of 20th century pop music. For people who just like a good tune now and then - dig in. It's great stuff.
