Rather odd compliment

Thread Starter
I was doing some grocery shopping earlier when I got my first fragrance-compliment of this fresh year. 'May I just say,' a fellow shopper said, 'that you smell divine.'

The odd thing is that I wasn't wearing anything. I was a blank canvas, for I meant to do some testing later. The fragrance she complimented can only have drifted from some lychees in my shopping trolley. Definitely the only time I've been complimented on a, er, fruity fragrance!

Good thing you did not have fish in your basket.lol

Forget your fragrance wardrobe. It's time to stuff some fresh lychees down your shirt and pants...

Good for you!

When your nuts start smelling better than your frags it is time for a radical wardrobe review.

Perhaps you just smell like a rose.

Is it possible some scented product was to blame? Laundry detergent or softener? Shampoo or hair product? Toothpaste or mouthwash? Or perhaps someone else in the vicinity was wearing something good and she attributed it to you, as the nose is very poor at direction.

Of course lychees do have a pleasant but mild scent. But the other shopper may just have been hitting on you.

Nice compliment in any case.

I think at this point, I probably sweat fragrance oils; maybe you've reached that point as well. ;-)

perhaps you had something on from the other day

Until July, I only wore cologne for special occasions. During all that time, I received frequent compliments on how nice I smelled...and all I was wearing was deodorant. Now that I'm wearing something every day...I've received two comments. Funny how those things work

Could have been on your clothing, coat, shoes, etc.

I've complimented my husband only to discover that it was his deodorant.

I can only second what has already been said so far - a compliment is a compliment!

Wow... interesting incident. A compliment on your Lychees pour homme.

The person who said that was open to possibilities. That was not a comment on your scent, it was a comment on you.

A compliment is a compliment, so that's nice. Are you SURE nothing was on your clothes from before? I'm often surprised by how long certain scents stick around! Get any Bleecker Street on your jacket and it'll be there for ages. WOW.

I have been complimented on my Antaeus deo on many occasions and I know I was not wearing any perfume at the time...it must have decent projection.
