Bogart Pour Homme. Yes or No

My current winter fragrances look like the list below. I don't really wear them in any type of pattern. Pretty much random. But my question is should I buy Bogart Pour Homme? Do I really need it? I wear my fragrances light, and they typically last a while on me. One spray of TV at a distance is more than enough. Is BPH going to be too strong? I know its cheap, but I dont want to spend money if I dont really need to. I'm also a little worried about the cherry in it, because I'm not a fan of Pure Havane.

I would really like to try Eau De Baux, but I don't really want to spend the money on it. Another is Spicebomb, I had a sample, but gave it away before giving it a full wearing.

The cherry is probably the most subtle note in Bogart PH. I say get a bottle and spray 1 shot to the chest from at least 6 inches away and you should be good.

I like BPH, and it even got me a compliment a few weeks ago. To me it smells very much like cherry pipe tobacco. Like all the Bogarts, the price is right... you can pick up a 3.3 oz/100 ml bottle for about $20. Good longevity too.

Other than both fragrances being somewhat on the sweet side, there is no resemblance.

I like and own Bogart Pour Homme, but I would rather save up for Eau des Baux -- $50 for 100ml is a pretty good deal, IMO.

Skip it, you already London and Dreamer, while not exactly the same they're both somewhat similar and better. You sound like you want to be talked out of buying it anyways.

Also no need to buy EdB, since you already own the vastly superior Tobacco Vanille.

I do kind of want to be talked out of it. I dont think I need any more winter fragrances, really. But I still want to buy new things all the time. Only thing really pushing me towards it is that it is $17, and it does sound appealing. Only thing worrying me is the strength.

Don't worry about the strength, if you can wear TV you should have no problem with BpH, but keep in mind it's $17 for a reason, it's a little harsh and synthetic.

If not Burberry London he also states that he doesn't like Pure Havane which is a cherry/tobacco fragrance and is superior to Bogart PH. If he doesn't like PH there's no way in the world he's going to enjoy Bogart PH.

Couldn't disagree more. BpH is an absolute projection, sillage and longevity beast. Out of all the 140+ scents in my collection it has got to be either the most potent or second most (and that includes all the scents I have tried and not bought to date come to think of it).

As to whether the OP *needs* it is another question. As Silentrich initially said, with London in your arsenal there is a passing resemblance that covers some of the same ground. So technically you don't *need* Bogart pour Homme, but I prefer it over London, so I say you should certainly *want* it. The two are quite different on the whole, and BpH really is quite the powerhouse scent that London isn't. They may have some glancing similarities, but their execution is completely different.

Bottom line: Get it!

It's not necessary. You have quite a few gourmands and orientals in your lineup that will do a similar but better job. I had it at one time. Used very little of it. Ended up giving it to a friend. He used it and actually told me that his girlfriend complimented him on it a time or two. But I really don't think it's a necessary buy.

What does Bogart PH smell similar to? The only two I've ever seen it compared to was Pure Havane and Burberry London.

In all these years i haven't smelled anything quite like it. That's just me of course . I would put it slightly closer to Burberry London in spirit, but still...

With Pure Havane, I get a strong cough syrup smell. I think the cherry is too much in the foreground. Reading about bogart, it seems the cherry is quite subtle, which may not be that bad.

and just put a sample of PH on my hand, still don't care for it.

I would say skip Bogart Pour Homme. I own it as well as a decant of Pure Havane, and honestly, I find their rendering of tobacco to be very similar. For tobacco notes, I'm not that crazy about either. I prefer Dreamer, Spicebomb, and Lanvin's Avant Garde.
