Seeking an honest opinion about Chanel Antaeus pour Homme.

I found a 50ml mint and sealed bottle batched "8812" for 50 euros (65 $), it should be produced around year 2007 according to Cosmetic Check.

Well, since I have read so many reviews about at least TWO reformulations, about "Antaeus is not a good frag anymore", about "ruining a great scent" and blah blah blah..... I'd like to know your HONEST opinion: if a 2007 bottle is worth of a blind buy.
I remember it in the beginning of '90, and It was really a strong and masculine scent. More than 20 years ( and some reformulation ) ago.
What's your opinion? To buy or to wait again for a vintage bottle?

Fair deal

I've only tried the recent formulation but I like it. Kinda harsh and a little pissy!

Yep! Fair deal. I have both vintage and modern,
and I actually prefer the modern one.
It has sharper and longerlasting top notes. And
it's the top notes I love the most in Antaeus.

I liked it but had to get rid of it has I got so many negative reactions from people wearing it.

The price seems fair; the only issue is whether you like it. I never had the privilege of trying the vintage, but hate the current version. I think more people like Antaeus than dislike it, but there are lots who think it smells bad.

Really, your question doesn't have an answer. You need to try it yourself.

I like it, and yes that is a good price. I had no idea it was such a divisive scent; to me it's very soft and was immediately likeable. Not sure if I have the vintage or the modern version though.

The consensus is that most people like Antaeus, in both formulations, than not; myself included. So I would take the deal.

In my opinion - Yes.

i tried the modern bottle. it was good - not great. the fact that it weakened wasn't its biggest flaw. its subtlety in fact was one of its greatest strengths

Have you already tried it, or are you planning to blind buy?

its a good deal. anyway, if its slightly weaker than the old ones, I believe that would be... better? I dont think I want to strongly smells of castoreum when I walk to a party

I think it's an outdated scent. It was great in its day. Not so much for the current times. That's just my two cents. That said, I would choose it over 1 Million any day!
