Balmain - Ambre Gris - blind buy?

So I have a bottle of Carbone de Balman which I blind bought based on recommendations from here and really liked it. Now i'm looking at the Ambre Gris since the bottle looks really awesome, but its supposed to be for women. Is really feminine smelling? or is it something that you think a guy could pull off pretty easily? I'm not a big fan of florals, for either men or women, but i'm not opposed to women's fragrances at all as long as they smell clean / fresh / unisex. Would appreciate some insights on this =) Thanks!

The Carbone de Balman is a great scent. Brought a bottle a few weeks ago. Now the Ambre Gris I don't know about. I'm sure one of the fellow basenoters will answer that one for you. Enjoy the Carbone.

I have smelled Amber Gris and found it ti be a unisex frag for me. It is a little sweet due to the amber and Benzoin,so. You may find it too feminine for you. Sample it before you buy it you may like it as it's quite lovely!

I recently BB a bottle of this and like it a lot. I'd say it's easily unisex. It's not floral to me, but is a little sweet and powdery. I can send you a sample if you like.

No nothing about Amber Gris , only that its sweet & unisex .
But Carbone ..... well im chiming in as both first lines on the opening posts do so .
Its really great to see more bn'ers enjoying Carbone ...
its a brilliant frag !! & i like to think im one of those waving the Carbone flag saving it from its demise .
Carbone is complex & of good pedigree .... really to good to be ignored by those tempted to blind buy or seek a sample , because of a few trashings on a couple of threads by a respected contributor here .
I hope he nose who he is ...
& i still wonder ? if all his shitty comments were from a passing by single solitary sample shot ?
Anyway , to all enjoying Pierre Balmains releases , all the best for 2013

This. I do find a slight floral element, but not too much. But it is sweet and therefore always a tough blind buy. Sample, but I would say easily unisex for a guy that can pull off sweet and musky. It is a very nice fragrance.
