DrScent.com - New e-commerce site launched as of 11/11/2011

I Googled a fragrance and the *only* retailer that had it online was drscent.com. I know there are some crap e-retailers out there that sell under several website names. However, this doesn't appear to have any other affiliations. They have a Facebook page (with only 15 likes) and are said to be based out of Staten Island, NY. I'm a little extra suspicious now, considering this place was one of the areas of NYC that suffered most from Hurricane Sandy. Has anyone been braver than me and ordered from them yet? I'd love to patronize a new, growing business as long as they're legit and their customer service is decent.

Well, what do you think? Would you order?

They've hidden their whois behind an anonymizer (Domains by Proxy). That's a red flag for me.

They offer a money back guarantee, but won't refund the shipping fee and they must receive the item back in 30 days from the time the order is placed. What if there's a delay in them shipping to you and/or a delay en route so it's impossible to send it back in time?

Not going to lie...I'll probably never order anything from them...There's already other great sites to order from.

This coming from a member that just joined this month with one post...no thanks...seems fishy to me now that you come and vouch for them here!

Whatever floats your boat!
Only reason i joined this basenotes is because
I google drscent.com for a coupon code
And saw this thread. Damn, this place has way too many
Critics!

Ive always visited fragrantica and basenotes, perfumediary to see reviews and see whats coming out.
Ive worked for a fragrance distributor for 5 years.
Basically hve more knowledge about this then most of the ppl on the web.
I became a member cause im a customer of drscent and i found this thread on google.
So relax

I'd say the one who needs to 'relax' is the one telling others to 'relax'. I'm perfectly content at the moment.

Hey Truth thanks for update. I was turned on to drscent.com when looking for Fresco by Ilum Dean. I emailed Ilum Dean website and they directed me to drscent.com as an authorized distributor of their product. I may order a few sample from them as a way to test reliability.

Btw. Never respond to the voice of critics. Welcome to Basenotes!

Ok! Didn't mean to start any spats but where go opinions... Anyway, thank you for all feedback, but especially "socalwoman". I will be adopting this method before shopping any new sites. I tried the BBB but they had no info. There are many great discount sites out there but I've even been burned by sites that I had previously had great success with. I live in an area that is extremely limited in fragrance purchasing options, so I rely heavily on the Internet.

Again, thanks for all your feedback!
