Comme Des Garcons 2 vs. Comme Des Garcons 2 Man

So I just turned 17; junior in highschool.
I'm checking which of the two would be the best to wear?
Price doesn't matter, just wondering which one should I buy.

You can recommend other fragrances too.
I know it depends on what's good with your body chemistry but I just need an opinion.

Thanks for your opinion in advance (:

Welcome to Basenotes iPunchBabies,
Both of these are great fragrances. 2 (EDP) is more floral but has a most unique ink note, aldehydic opening, and a sweeter woody patchouli base. I consider it among my most coveted bottles. 2MAN (EDT) is the more masculine one with a citrus opening, a clear and more pronounced incense, cumin, leather, and a very interesting white smoke/candle wax note.
I feel 2MAN is a stripped down, less sweet version of 2. Although there are some similarities, they can easily be distinguished from each other. The complaint you'll hear is that 2MAN does not have good longevity but I've found that I can smell it for a long time on others just not on myself so that may account for olfactory fatigue.
I'm not sure what your preference or your style is but hope you'll get to enjoy one or both!
Enjoy your fragrant journey here. Let us know what you end up doing.
Oh and be nice to babies LOL.

Haha thanks for the welcoming (:
I'm kind of a noob with fragrances so I just want to know what your opinion would be for me?
I'm kind of familiar with the smells of both but which one if you had to pick?
Thanks!

OK if I had to pick, FOR ME, it's simply 2.

Hmm I see, and you think it will be good with girls under 20?

2Man is excellent. So is 2. I would choose 2Man but either would be da bomb. Many girls under 20 might not appreciate it...but...the ones with good taste will.

Welcome ipbabies. Rennaisance Man gives a great description of both 2Man & 2.
I'm too old to guess or worry what a 20 year old woman might find attractive but I think they are both quality fragrances.

Personally I prefer 2. I find it sophisticated, modern & unique. More unisex than 2Man. 2 is an ink scripted calligraphy of a rose.
2 doesn't shout. It's subtle & stays close to the body. If you wear 2, you won't be knocking women out who immediatly associate you with a strong & common fragrance. I'd say 2 requires more confidence - and in the end, confidence is what will carry the day with many 20 year olds. If you wear it that way, you may find a quality gal who admires both you and the bottle - polished & unique.

They are both very different.
Actually I see nothing in common between the two.

2 Man is a stark and shrewd incense and 2 is a complex concoction of complexity.

Both will work well the ladies if you add a gob of charm to it.

Damn both sound really good, still don't know which one to get.
Thanks for all the opinions so far!

Yes, as other already mentioned they're very different types of fragrances. I quite like both but if I'd have to choose I'd probably go with CDG2Man just because I find it more versatile.

They do both sound good, don't they?

Since price doesn't matter to you, maybe you need both
post #12 of 16
One is clear unisex, second is clear men's choice .. If u are beginer in world of frag Men can be hard choice for U, i would sug. CdG2 (unisex ) - easier, likable ...

Welcome!

As others have said, one is a clean, watery rose, the other a clean incense. Both somewhat avant-garde and on the cleaner side, so they should be ok with teenagers. In the end it's really about whether you prefer rose or incense.
