What fragrance was so bad you HAD to wash it off? - Page 3

Add Creed Original Vetiver to my list.

I haven't used it in a while, but something made me want to go for it today.

3 sprays, and it had me gagging in about 30 minutes.

So so sweet. Blech.

Luxe Patchouli - the overdose of immortelle at the front was just too much.

Tobacco Vanille - lovely opening but the vanilla follow-up felt like a room candle.

Ormonde Man & Straight to Heaven - very synthetic woody note that just doesn't do it for me, almost painful.

Salvador Dali
Magnetism
Pi
Encre Noire

thierry mugler alien and secretions magnifiques are the two that come to mind. It happens every now and then that I'll want to wash something off (about 1 in 50) but those were the two I just couldnt keep on

Tried one tiny spray of A*Men on my wrist at the airport this summer, almost threw up after smelling that ridiculously strong tar note.

Spent a good 10 minutes in the plane toilet scrubbing my wrist till it was red but I could still smell it!

Add another to my list: Memoir Man. So pretty on the paper, so dreadful on me.

Yesterday my bottle of D&G The One i blind bought came in.I looked forward to having a new frag all day.I came home, took a shower and sprayed myself down pretty good because i had read about the poor sillage/longevity of The One.After i finished spraying i realized it smelled nothing like i thought it would.I had a sneaking feeling they sent me the womens version of it and came here to see what the bottles looked like.Sure enough thats what happened.I considered leaving it on but it was so strong i had to shower again.

Heritage smelled so good from a 1ml sample I had so I bought a 100 ml bottle. I sold the bottle a week later. Too strong, too many florals.

Soon after I was given a sample of Zino and that had to come off right away of course. lol

Grey Flannel was always my number one scrubber of all time. Then L'Eau D'Issey came into my life.

Eucris. Putrid stuff on me.

Hahaha sorry to hear about the situation but it is pretty funny.

I trust the vendor is rectifying it all.

Bond no.9 I Love New York. I had it on for about 1-2 hours and took it all off. I couldnt stand how thick/sweet it smelled. It was suffocating.

If anyone wants a 10ml let me know!

Got a question about this thread. How many basenoter's farvorite frag was one listed on this thrread? That would basically be another thread

Guerlain Vetiver turned fecal on my skin. I'm not keen to revisit it and risk reliving the nasty experience, not when there are many great vetiver scents around.

Just now, L'artisan Dzongkha. Honestly, on my skin it smelt like celery and pepper. Was making me feel sick.

Oh that's disappointing I was curious about this one! Does sound potentially 'in-your-face' though so not surprised to hear you're not a fan.

Most recent wash offs were Le Labo Vetiver 46 and Rose 31 (funnily enough, I once liked Rose 31 alot ) . Kouros Sport also went the way of the sink along with Ultraviolet and Gucci Homme II .

Van cleef and arpels pour homme.

1 Million

When it first came out, I had to try it. So I went to my local store and sprayed some on, then I went to a friends house.
1 Million was there in person like a 400 pound gorilla. I excused myself to the bathroom and washed what I could off.

Acqua di Sale

The "most realistic" aquatic seems be have a sharp, salty nature to it. Soap.

Phoenix

Oh man this stuff is crap! I received it for CHristmas and thought to give it a fair try.
Cheap and awful.
And I like some cheap ones (Acqua Velva, Old Spice, Swiss Army, Adidas frags)

Not sure about absolute favourites but L'Egoiste and Kouros are two of my top frags.(No surprises seeing Kouros in here mind.)

Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan - it's the only scent I've ever been completely and utterly repulsed by. The opening quite literally triggered my gag reflex.

Versace Dreamer. Smells like urinal cake, ugh.
