Fecal note in reformulated Jicky edp

When applying Jicky to my skin, I detect a "dirty diapers/fecal" note about 5 minutes afterward. Does anyone know what it is? Not sure if this jasmine or civet. Whenever I smell civet in a fragrance, its towards the end and usually takes a few hours. Just wanted to know if anyone else had the same experience with the new reformulated version.

I believe this is civet. MdM also shares this note.

It is civet indeed. Or rather, synthetic civet.

Yes, civet.
If you think it is prominent in the current EdP's opening, try some of the vintage formulae ! Knock-your-socks-off stuff

I've noticed this in every bottle and both versions I have tried but don't understand why this note only seems to appear in Jicky and Mouchoir De Monsieur. It is pretty disgusting to me, but what comes after makes it worth it to me, especially with MDM. I assume it is civet, but can anyone confirm that it is this note that becomes so wonderful after the nastiness calms down? I suppose it must or it wouldn't have been included.

Yes, its civet and a note I just can't get past in the composition unfortunately.

I think civet can appear quite soon in some fragrances. Just tried on Narcisse Noir (vintage) and Eau d'Hermes and civet appears very soon. Love it

My arch enemy...civet. You get that in a lot of oud frags.

It's civet, and it's disgusting. I can't wear Jicky, MdM, or any civet-prominent cologne.

Agree.

Having nearly disappeared from most perfumes (new or reformulated), it's good to know civet is still around here and there. As with all musks, some people are more sentitive than others - besides, these being mostly synthetic civets, it is possible that one is hypersensitive to one synth substitute, but be perfectly ok with natural civet, and viceversa.

Hmmm, sounds like what Sex Panther would smell like.

60% of the time, it works all the time.

Civet is definitely 'in' MANY mens and womens fragrances. In those two Guerlains the formulas have been created to allow the wearer to zero in on this note. In addition, certain people are hypernosmic (or anosmic) to the note, so it either goes undetected or it's detected immediately upon application.

In my case, I absolutely HATED Jicky the first time I smelled it. It took years before I fell in love with it and now I can't imagine living without it. Go figure.
