YSL L'homme

Before buying I read some reviews.. "citrus" "sweet scent" etc.. to me it simply smells of hash, I can't think of anything else. What do other people think of this scent?
Fresh, spicy, sweet/semi-powdery. Smooth ginger and citrus. Great work scent. OK longevity.

Love it. Don't get any "hash" vibe

i really like it. versatile, safe, but unique in its own way.

imo, its in the top 20 best designer scents to come out in the past 10 years.

So light it's almost pointless.

Its sharp and cold at the start not sure how they do this since ginger is hot, then it starts warming up a bit withe spices and dries down into a creamy blob. I have not tried the fronzen ginger but I am guessing the top lasts longer lanuit is probably more interesting but I don't like cardamom to much. If you have one mill there is no point in geting this one too. Hash? On me it lasts about five hours which is not bad and still linger for about three. So to me its not a light one at all plus I get a incense smell on the dry down sometimes. Not bad. I wear it to work sometimes.

Lacklustre, generic, and unremarkable for me. Nothing to get excited about.

I feel like the term generic gets thrown around here quite a bit, usually with subtle negative connotations.

L'Homme is excellent for what it is, a light nice smelling spring and summer scent.

No subtlety intended. To me it smells artificial and predictable, and the house should be capable of far better. Plenty of people seem to enjoy it though, so I'm probably in the minority .

Its highly like by many. I enjoy this scent a ton
post #11 of 24
Its very linear and probably not too exciting but not as bad as most. Not really for someone over 40.

I don't think it smells of hash, but I could come up with something more undesirable to describe what I do think it is... One to avoid for sure, IMO.

Artificial and predictable to who? Scent aficionados?

To him?

The scent's ok. I'm not too compelled by it.

IMO the best of those flankers.

A very pleasant smelling, non offensive fragrance. I enjoy it very much though I enjoy La Nuit much more.

L'homme is kind of like jennifer aniston.... decent looking.... nothing like jessica alba or megan fox
post #19 of 24
I think it's half decent. I must go and try it again now because there was something I couldn't quite place and it might well be hashish. Had the same thing with Live Jazz until somebody mentioned a marijuana note and that's exactly how it seemed to me.

L'Homme is an enjoyable fragrance -- versatile, clean, fresh, sweet.... a bit floral actually. Glad to have this in my collection.

Used to like this one, not anymore, swapped my bottle. Synthetic, boring, and doesn't last. Also very sweet, and somewhat feminine to me.

I like it. Especially for daytime use because it has a very pleasant scent and is not to overpowering.
By the way I find Jennifer Aniston very attractive so maybe I'm way off...

I like it, but the longevity is atrocious. It has a slightly metallic, synthetic smell too.
