Top 10 Cheapies!

Thread Starter
Hello everyone! I see these lists float around every now and then, but I'm curious to see a good one. Plus, it can never hurt to know a couple more bang for your buck fragrances!
Some rules;
-Must be $30 or less for the bigger bottle...don't say "30ml for $28", let's just try and keep it for truly under $30 cheapies.
-Give your lists in order if possible. I'd prefer to know your true favorite as opposed to 10 good cheapies in any order.
Let's go!

10) Cool Water
9) Cuba Gold
8) Intimately Beckham
7) Diesel Plus Plus
6) Activist by The Body Shop
5) Corduroy by Zirh
4) The Secret by Antonio Banderas
3) Legend by Michael Jordan
2) Nautica Voyage
1) 360 Red by Perry Ellis

Post your thoughts on mine as well as your own lists

Giorgio for Men
Gianfranco Ferré for Man
Halston Z-14 (vintage)
Ocean Rain
Quorum
Bellagio for Men
Cool Water
Grey Flannel
Red for Men
Bijan for Men

Edit: After looking at some of the other lists below I could (and should) have added Azzaro pour Homme, Bogart pour Homme and Yatagan to the list as well (just completely forgot them) as they are certainly worthy and meet the criteria.

Some on the list would be ranked higher if the vintage formulations were taken into account (like Red, Cool Water and Bijan) but since in most cases the vintage can't be acquired for $30 or less for a full bottle I had to go with the current releases/reformulations in order to make the cut and their rankings suffered accordingly.

  7. Live Jazz by YSL (< $30)
  8. Jovan Musk for Men by Jovan (< $12)

Cuba Gold 3.4 ($7)
Cool Water 3.4 ($25)
Azzaro Chrome 3.4 ($25-$30)
Al-Rehab Silver 35mL ($6..about $10 with shipping) 3 bottles of this would be under $30 and would be a little over 3.4oz so I figured it still met criteria.

These are all I can think of.

All these are easily found under $30, and are listed by preference:

1) Azzaro PH
2) Halston 1-12
3) Perry Ellis Portfolio Green
4) Animale Animale
5) Halston Z-14
6) Rochas Man
7) Quorum
8_4711
9) Brut Cologne
10) Tea Rose-Perfumer's Workshop

ETA: Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin and Rive Gauche would definitely rank high on this list, but I left them off because I think I paid a little over $30 for each and OP wanted only sub-$30 scents.

Hey, could you give me some more insight on Jaguar Vision I? The few reviews seem splendid, and I love pineapple notes, so I'm interested. Anyway you could provide a more full review?

1. Montana Graphite (at the moment) this is a very dark, smoky amber/patchouli type fragrance. It puts me in mind of Halston Man Amber and M7 Oud Absolu minus the medicinal/oud quality. Longevity is fantastic, projection is good.

2. Caron's l'Anarchiste, edgy statement scent. Winter and summer-friendly, amazing presentation, superb projection and longevity.

3. Azzaro Jetlag, a fresh/spicy masculine tea-rose that brings a unique twist to a classically office/compliment friendly genre, great sillage and decent longevity.

4. The Dreamer, Versace, seems to be a love/hate scent, but its distinctiveness and tenacity make it worth a look at least.

5. Angel Schlesser Homme's uniqueness makes it irreplaceable in my eyes.

There's five. I'm not in the mood to list more on an individual basis. However I will say anyone looking for good, inexpensive scents would do well to explore Caron (3rd Man, Pour un Homme, Eau de Caron and Yatagan) and Molinard (Homme I, II, III, Vanille Patchouli, Amber, Patchouli, Vanille Marine and their cologne) as well as some of the classic powerhouse scents which are now quite inexpensive like Giorgio for Men, Montanna parfum d'Homme, and so on.

Moreover there are many scents that can be had for a bargain price. For example I recently purchased several legit vintage 1.7 ounce bottles of Worth Pour Homme HC for around 12.00 USD (compared to the 90 something dollars I paid for my last bottle) as well as Coriolan (again 1.7 ounce) and CSP's L'eau Du Gouverneur for around 20 USD each and I'm thinking about buying a large bottle of Davidoff's discontinued Good Life (which is priced quite high on Ebay) for $49.99 from a Chemist that still has some old stock.

Personally I don't think it's wise to limit yourself to a particular ceiling (though I appreciate here it's probably for comparative purposes) as - imho - I consider getting a long-discontinued fragrance for $50 or so, or getting something at a large discount even if the price is still high to be a better bargain than getting something readily available, however good, for 20-30. For example I recently paid about $50 for a 1.7 ounce bottle of Gucci Pour Homme and $69 for a 3.4 ounce Gucci Pour Homme II - off the shelf - and I feel I got a great bargain in both cases taking into account how fragrance is priced off-the-shelf in this country, and what it would cost to buy them from an Ebay scalper.

Hmm…. Of my collection, my best of under 30$ club would be –
Tattoo – $9.99 at TJ Maxx, the bottle tends to leak a little but the scent is worth far more than the $9.99 price tag.
Dunhill Desire - $19.99 at TJ Maxx, a wonderful creamy vanilla lemon.
Versace Dreamer – under $30 but I am not sure where I bought it. The opening (top notes) are pretty harsh and it takes some time getting used too but if you can get passed the first minute or so then you are in for a treat because this fragrance is one of the best dry downs out there.
Dirty English – under $25 at Gordmans. This is a wonderful sweet vanilla tobacco scent… well worth the money.
Ungaro pour homme 3 – under $30 online. This scent just smells like money, very sophisticated.
YSL Live Jazz - under $30 online. A wonderful minty citrus scent.
Hanae Mori HM - under $30 online. A wonderful citrus scent.
Midnight in Paris – Got it for a steal at TJ Maxx for $15. A hard scent for me to describe but all I can say is that it is awesome.
Zino – under $25 from Amazon. A lite yet sophisticated scent.
Jaguar Classic Amber - $16.99 at Ross. A wonderful sweet vanilla amber type scent.

Ok that is my top ten… I wish I was better at describing scents but that is not my strong suit.
