Tuberose + Oud

The other day wifey got into the car and she smelled intoxicating. I cannot describe how good she smelled.

When i asked her which perfume it was with her oud (obviously could smell the oud) she said she wore Carnal Flower.

She'd fumigated herself with oud wood and then dabbed some oud oil then sprayed Carnal Flower.

The smoky smoky nature of the oud wood along with the fecal dense complex oud and tuberose is beyond words.

I'm wearing Beyond Love now and fumigated myself with oud wood.

Sounds pretty good.

While I am not a layerer, truly I wish I had some oud to try this combo out! I can imagine how incredible that must smell as long as the oud is nice and dry and has that same "medicinal" facet as CF.

Interesting. I don't have any oud oil, but I have a sample of Francis Kurkdjian's Oud as well as Carnal Flower. I suppose I'll try layering them sometime when I'm at home to see how it pans out.

I'm actually pretty surprised no one's done a tuberose+oud scent. Oud almost always gets combined with rose or goes solo, but the combination of oud with tuberose or jasmine would be interesting, if done well.

I think I'll do a Oud oil pass around.

I'll start it with Cacio if he doesn't mind. Then it'll go wherever it needs to go after him.

The effect must be not unlike Angelique Encens, right?

Yes exactly but instead of tuberose and incense it's tuberose and oud (fumigated oud wood) oud oil.

Tuberose and oud sounds fantastic, two big materials, quite intoxicating. What Amouage should be doing instead of watering down their stuff.

I guess I'll have to try soon Eclair + Leather oud. But it's not the same as true oud chips.

oud oil pass the sample? if so, count me in.

Good one, Cacio - someone needs to get this idea to Amouage. Can you imagine how beautiful? And it would lend itself well to their feminine / masculine pairings.

O.M.Goodness!

Yesterday I sprayed on Beyond Love, dabbed the tip of my nose, swiped my cheeks and dabbed each mastoid area with my favorite oud (fecal intense woody) and then...and then fumigated myself with oud (dry austere complex woody type).

I'm going to put some oud wood in the pass around.

I guess I'll post it to Larimar then he can forward to gandhajala if hes interested then next to Cacio in D.C then to Brian Chambers in NYC then to Drseid in VA if hes inetesreted?
Anyone else on the East Coast and inetersted?
Then it floats to wherever is next geographically.

Any thoughts?

Definitely count me in on the pass-around... and thanks!

Oh thanks, hedonist! I'd be most happy to be part of your sample pass.
Yes, count me in as well. Thanks again.

Tuberose + Oud should definitely happen more often. Count me in, too!
Count me in as well, if there's enough of the samples to go around. I live in SF, which is I guess the westernmost part of the US, so I'll be the last one to get the samples, unless of course, someone in Oregon or Washington joins in.

PS - You may want to change the topic of the thread as well, hedonist. If people knew it was a sample pass, I'd imagine many more might want to join in.

Tuberose and Oud sounds like a really great idea?

Maybe I'll work that up...

I've dubbed a fragrance with a great name, but not figured out what to make for it. Sounds like I've found it,

THANKS!

Alright I'll start compiling the parcel. Couple of weeks and it should be out.

Sounds wonderful. I thought the Mona di Orio Oud had tuberose in it? Am I wrong? I haven't smelled it yet.

Lovley tuberose but no detectable oud.

I have a 10 ml indian attar which a friend brought me called "Agar Rajnigandha", which is composed of assam oud, tuberose and jasmine, its fresh yet very deep and resinous at the same time. I highly enjoy it.

Sounds very nice.
I'm hoping to find tuberose extract and put some in oud oil.
