Highest Positive Review to Negative Review Ratio Fragrances!

Hey Basenotes, I am curious as to what the highest rated fragrances on basenotes are on the ratio of # of positive reviews compared to # of negative reviews. I know that some of the reviews are influenced by the price of the item and there are neutral reviews, but overall I think it usually provides a good idea of the thoughts of this community.

The highest that I have seen is Guerlain's L'instant Extreme (55:2). A close second is Dior Homme Intense (58:3).

Some that are good, but not nearly as good, are Rochas man (102:11) and Guerlain L'instant pour homme (108:9).

Let me know what you see and if any can match L'instant de Guerlain pour homme!

PS A fragrance having a 2:0 ratio or something like that shouldn't count

You should also keep in perspective if the ratio is reliable IMO. Maybe people are more keen on reviewing scents that they love than fragrances that they dislike?

TLS, yeah I do agree that is important. This isn't a big deal, I just thought it would be fun. However, I think if people review ones they love, it should balance out and we can assume that will be the case for all fragrances . . .

Thought I would add Perry Ellis 360 Red has 36:0. Not bad.

It's always nice to know what other people think positively and negatively about popular fragrances.

Of course! An interesting discussion!

Tom Ford Noir de Noir 33:1.

Wow, didn't realize that Perry Ellis 360 Red has no negative review. Anyway, from my collection Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree by Chanel has a 56:2 ratio. Eau des Baux by L'Occitane has 24:1, but will add another plus on the positive as I have yet to write my review.

This vs another rose based frag, MFK Lumiere Noire... 19:0. Been meaning to create that poll.

Naomatto Absinthe 15:0.

Don't assume that because a fragrance has a high positive to negative ratio that you'll like it. Honestly I'm lukewarm on Rochas Man (it's synthetic and too leafy/woody for a gourmand)

I don't understand how could anybody leave negative for Black Aoud by Montale.

18 negative to 62 positive.

I agree - both with the warning about the ratio meaning you will like it, and with the take on Rochas Man.

Here are some others:
Slumberhouse Norne 12:0
Patou Pour Homme 35:1

MPG Ambre Précieux: 37:1
CdG Skai: 18:0

Thanks for this, I'll try and sample those

Maybe I should change that.

I tend not to review frags I dont like or.even rate them. good info still and all those frag are not the best but overall good. Popularity or hype as simeone else mentioned has do something to do with but you likely tofind more likes than loves and its more likely you wil end up wih something ggod without having to spend a foutune. Thnksfor posting.

The one I'm wearing now has a good ratio, Ineke Derring-Do 18-0.
IMO, a line should be drawn somewhere. Some of the frags posted have small sample sizes, and I think it would be misleading to post them here. Having said that, another frag with a good ratio is Derby by Guerlain (39:2), and I'm wearing it now (from a sample).
