$100 Wardrobe

if you had $100 to purchase your fragrance for the next 3 years. What would you buy? indicate the size in your purchase as well

ps: since price varies a lot especially between online dealers and department stores, lets just go with online prices like fragrancenet.

Live Jazz 100ml - $40
Burberry London 50ml - $30
Hanae Mori 100ml - $30

Live jazz is probably summer or the safe work scent
London for fall and winter days
HM for most social outings all 4 seasons

I'm not sure how much I need for 3 years actually... anyone have an idea?

Honestly, I'd probably just get a split of something I know I like and could wear as a signature scent, so perhaps GIT or Aventus since they are like $70 for a 50mL split.

This is an interesting exercise and I actually really had to think about which frags were dearest to me.

Fahrenheit 1 oz. $40
Rive Gauche PH 4.2 oz. $30
Quorum 1.7 oz. $10
Remaining $20 on samples of TdH and Prada IdH!!

Split of Amouage EPIC MAN

Ungaro III, Rive Gauche, Caron pour un Homme- I could buy a bottle of each at a little over 20$.

Plus, a mass-market classic like Quorum, Old Spice etc., and, if there is still some money left, an affordable powerhouse, along the lines of Aazzaro PH, Van Cleef&Arpels PH, Zino Davidoff, Versace l'Homme, Trussardi Uomo (all or most of them quite good value for money, especially in the case of larger bottle sizes).

If I was back to zero bottles and had $100 to spend for the next 3 years....

I'd go

100 ml Nautica Voyage $25
125 ml Rive Gauche $35
50 ml Rochas Man $20
50 ml Azzar Pour Homme $20

I would get all the varieties of Cuba brand. It covers a lot of ground under budget.

$100 would not last me 3 years. I'm lucky if $100 lasts me 6 months.

Le Male is my favorite right now, but it goes quick. I buy the 200ml bottles for $105. I go through about 2.5 bottles a year. I have been exploring cheaper options like Perry Ellis 360 White, and while it smells similar, it doesn't last as long and lacks the vanilla base that makes Le Male my favorite. And the prices are not as great as I expected. $20 for 50ml of 360 White may sound less expensive than Le Male, but it takes $80 to buy 4 bottles and I would rather spend $105 for the original.

If I was limited to $100 for 3 years, I would probably switch to Aqua Di Gio. I don't love it enough to use more than 2 or 3 sprays. People like it and it is pleasant enough for every day. I have a 200ml bottle that's been sitting 1/3rd full after 4 years of use. I wore it daily for a year, and then quit using it after finding other fragrances I like more.

Aramis is 50% off at perfumania so I would get

JHL

I can't believe how inexpensive Hanae Mori is. I paid close to a hundred dollars at Nordstrom for it.

I've seen Curve at TJ Maxx for $10.

I want to try Coty Raw Vanilla but can't find it at stores. I will look again at Marshalls and TJ Maxx again.

I know, right?! I almost paid that at Nordstrom, but I got sidetracked and forgot to go back to buy it. When I got home I decided to just buy it online. I'm glad I did.

460 Park ................50ml ......$15
Encre Noire ............50ml ......$30
Eau Des Beaux .......100ml ....$30
Marc Jacobs Bang ...100ml .....$25

In order of preference, I'd go for something on the sweeter side like:

Chanel Egoiste or Caron Pour un Homme or YSL Opium

and then something un-sweet like:

Comme Des Garcons 2 Man or Guerlain Vetiver or YSL Rive Gauche

From experience I would rather buy two good frags instead of trying to buy as many as possible for $100, focus on quality not quantity, I've often made that mistake.
CK One Shock 100ml $27
Burberry Brit 50ml $29
Hanae Mori 50ml $19
Cerruti 1881 50ml $22

or swap the last 2 for 100ml of either Eau de Rochas Homme or Eau Dynamisante for around $40
