Bond no 9 New York Amber

I've been on a Bn9 NY Amber kick lately. I have worn it several times this week. Anyone know of a fragrance similar to this? I have tried other "amber" fragrances, but I want one with a more citrusy, astringent amber.

Maybe V for Men by Clive Christian

I'm a big fan of Amber fragrances. One of the best is Versilia Vintage - Ambra Mediterranea from Profumi del Forte.

I own and LOVE NY Amber. Is is really quite unique. I have a lot of other amber fragrances also, but nothing smells quite the same as New York Amber. I do hear that Bond No. 9 Harrods Amber smells similar, but I have not tried that one yet.

Is Love NY Amber similar to Tom Fords Amber Absolute or are they very different? I liked Amber Absolute but it's discontinued and isn't worth the price being asked for what's left.

Does anyone know if Herrods Amber smells similar? I have tried many Bn9 frags and dislike all but NY Amber. But I hear Herrods smells similar/identical. Since for some dumb reason they quit selling their Bon Bons, It is difficult to test.

Ok, I just visited Bn9 web store, and the notes are IDENTICAL from New York Amber and Herrods Amber...Just a different bottle? seems weird, maybe same juice different package to sell at Herrods.
Update for the update...
Someone in an old thread said the only difference is the concentration...NY amber being 30% while Herrods is weaker...Yet others say they smell similar but not identical. hmmmm....

To tell you the truth, I was hard pressed to tell a big difference between the two.

Another you may want to try is Profumum Ambra Auera.

I need to sample this. I enjoy amber.

Oddly, I don't detect amber in NY Amber. I smell rose and oud. Am I wrong?

No, not really the same. AA has more vanilla, where NYA has more nutmeg and feels much more dry IMO. Two of the best, but not very alike. If you like and miss Amber Absolute, you should go with Ambre Sultan (Serge Lutens). I think they are pretty similar.

Thank you for responding. I will get a sample.

Rasasi Amber oud is close to it. The Rasasi just has more oud in the dry down

Harrods and NY Amber are indeed identical juices, NY is just a stronger concentration. Other than that, identical. As stated, Amber Absolute and NY Amber are really nothing alike at all.

You need to check out Opus VI by Amouage. Both it and NYA share a prominent aromachemical/accord of dry amber, but in Opus VI it is drier, more citrusy, more woody, and a bit more masculine. It is the only amber I have ever smelled that had any similarity to the otherwise very unique New York Amber.

Opus VI is another of my favorites...I own samples, but not a bottle yet. Nothing is really like NY Amber that I have found. Most Bond no 9 frags are monster projector/longevity frags...b/c of that people tend to love or hate them.
