Habit Rouge or Serge Lutens?

I've been making alot of threads on here trying to get opinions about different fragrances as I've recently started loving all the different types that are out there and this time I wanted to ask what people think is better between

Habit Rouge EDT
Serge Lutens Chergui
Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan

I'm really into sweet fragrances but will except something different as I don't want to have just one type of fragrance. I'm not really into the really spicy scents though.

The three are all good for me, but they are different, so it's really what you're looking for. HR is more citrusy, dusty, Chergui a touch sweeter and gourmand, and Ambre Sultan dry, intense, ambery. My favorite perhaps is the more striking Ambre Sultan; however, it does have spices, not overwhelmingly so, but they are there, so if you don't like spices, you should be careful. Perhaps, also thinking about the price, you could go for HR.

Out of the ones mentioned, I'd recommend either Habit Rouge or Ambre Sultan- both have more than reasonable amounts of well crafted spice in them.

All very good. My preference - Habit Rouge EDT

I don't think you would like Ambre Sultan, it's pretty spicy. I'd go for Chergui.

Chergui

Well I like Ambre Sultan a lot but it's defenitely spicy!

Habit Rouge EDP is sweet in a way but more a classy sophisticated scent.

Chergui is very sweet. Like a cherry in the opening. In this range I like By Kilian's back to black aphrodisiac more. It's more sophisticated and has beter lasting power.

In your search for sweet but not overly sweet I recommend Homme Jaipür EDP. An excellent scent with super longevity and projection. One of the best IMO.

I would go with the classic style of Habit Rouge. You have plenty of time for the niche fragrances.

I love all three of them but probably Chergui will match your tastes best.

Problem is Back to Black cost 150-200 dollars more

I don't think it's a question of which is the better fragrance as it is a question of which aspects of these fragrances you find most appealing. I think Cacio has summed it up very succinctly. I'd rule out Habit Rouge if you're sensitive to animalic or fecal notes buried under all the vanillic powder. I love the spicy herbal facets of Ambre Sultan but on my skin these aspects don't linger long enough to hold my interest; it's mostly ambery sweetness. Chergui used to be rich and opulent with its sweet smoky melange of hay, spices and tobacco notes but even in its current reincarnation, it is worth sampling and would stand as my final pick.

You can buy the refill! IMO if you like it more you should do that.

They're all very very nice. I agree with Cacio.
Out of the three I personally prefer Ambre Sultan but only because I find it a bit more complex.
The degree of complexity doesn't translate into better perfume. But in this case, the three are clearly seated towards complex on the complex-------simplistic spectrum.

Among those, my preference goes to Habit Rouge.

I like Ambre Sultan, spicy and not too sweet. If you want sweet check Kilian Back to Black, gorgeous honey.
