I can't believe I am going to be so damned old...

I tend to hang around people a lot younger and am a Levi's 501 and flanel shirt kind of gay man. (Most people are a lot younger at this age. LOL.) And I can't decide what fragrance to wear for my birthday.

Please go through my wardrobe and help me decide. I want something that will project and am thinking about Black Aoud, Black Afghano, New York Oud, MKK, Harrod's Oud, Musc Ravageur or Carnal Flower. I do have quite a few samples of others not listed in my wardrobe so mention something even if you don't see it in my wardrobe. I might just have it!

Personally I would go with Sycomore, but since you want something strong, Yatagan.

Happy Birthday to you! I'd go with Ambre Sultan. But, really, a better choice would be the answer to this question: What makes you feel happy and young? If I had your collection, that would be Hanae Mori H.M.

I wore Harrods Oud on my birthday. It was very special.

But if you're really into performance for your birthday -- and why not, you've been kicking the tires on that body for a while now, might as well show it off -- I would assume Black Afghano would top that list.

Montale ouds sound good. It also depends on the purpose. MKK can be great, even better, Rien (which I don't see in your wardrobe).

This is a great idea!!! However the only one I can find listed that is still produced is... Poivré (Extrait de Parfum) by Caron (1954). Not sure where I could find this. Better still would be to find a vintage bottle. I think I shall search for a vintage bottle for my next birthday...no wait. I am not having any more of these. Like somebody said once, "the currency of being gay is youth and beauty and I'm bankrupt."

My first reaction was Terre d'Hermes. It is a very nice scent.

But now that I think about it, if you want something more playful, I would go with Musk Ravangeur. Since it is your day, I would put on extra sprays.

If you think you're getting old, try something more youthful and sweeter such as l'homme, or even 1 million. People always hate on 1 million but in a youthful crowd it turns heads and gets you plenty of complements.

At the last minute today I used Black Aoud. I am smelling really fragrant...I used two sprays of my haute concentration. Only one person backed away. LOL. I'm projecting like a beast but I love it.

I am thinking I will wear Musc Ravageur in the morning to work and then shower after and wear Black Afghano in the evening. Might change my mind but Musc Ravageur in the morning for sure. I have a big bottle and rarely use the lovely stuff. It's time. Musc Afghano if it does not wash off. ;-)
