Orange blossom/citrusy/floral frag(s)?

What about something kind of like... a mix of TDC's Bergamote and MFK's APOM PH?

Like a frag with florals and a mix of a kind of softness/vanillic(?) from APOM, but with the citrusy bite from Bergamote?

Also, being citrusy a main component, good longevity of citrus can be a plus .

Notes that draw my attention are bergamot/cedar/musk/amber/tobacco.
Not so much leather :P.

Edit: Oh, and contemporary (read: not 'dated'/'old fashioned') please! I can respect classics, but I'm currently more interested in contemporary smelling ones .

You could try Floris Special No127. Lots of neroli in that.

Hmm well to accommodate the citrus/orange blossom/floral thread title I'd suggest Pen's Orange Blossom, but it certainly doesn't smell like a combo of Bergamote 22 and APOM.

It has the softness and vanillic accord you're after, but instead of the acidic bite you're after it has a powdery accord.

I own APOM and a decant of Bergamote 22, and enjoy them both, but the bottle of Orange Blossom I bought for the missus speaks to me more than the others do. It has doesn't possess the same longevity but has a beautiful clean scent that I'm finding more and more desirable in a fragrance....despite my affinity towards MKK.

You describe New York Parfum de Nicolai to a tee.

Top notes: Bergamot lime, lavender, cloves, green notes

Middle notes: Thyme, cinnamon, patchouli, pepper, paprika, cedar,

Base notes: Leather, vanilla, amber

I actually have a sample of Pen's Orange Blossom and just went to it again because of your post; I do like the smell, and perhaps I'll look more into getting a bottle in the future. But I do like the citrus bite that Bergamote has.

Do you feel Pen's OB is more of a calm/relaxing/balmy kind of scent?

What about a citrusy one with more of a.. vitalizing citrus; but not in a screeching way.

.

I know exactly what you mean - Pen's OB is more a sweet, clean citrus than the crisp citrus that Bergamote 22 offers.

I don't find it balmy so much as white floral, but I definitely get the relaxing vibe from it. I always feel happier when the gf wears it.....or when I steal a few spritzes from her. It's a European-style unisex after all!

I can only hope the other members here can offer more insight than I can; I'll be watching this thread with great interest.

I've been looking for an excuse to blind buy PdN New York for a while, and it seems Awakening950 has provided it

Haha, I look forward to more suggestions from people! Perhaps we'll both become aware of multiple scents that we'll end up owning! Cheers.

That's a nice one. Lots of rose. Luten's Fleurs d'Oranger is another, with tuberose. I find both a tad femme, however; the latter more so.

Apart from these, even Eau d'Orange Verte has, apart from citrus notes, a reasonable amount of orange blossom tones, yet less or no other florals- but still worth testing.

A love or hate frag for many but I'd give it a try. It's certainly not old fashioned. (Doesn't have much citrus either but is big on orange blossom).

Cartier - Eau de Cartier
Ineke - Derring-Do
MFK - Aqua Universalis

Definitely try PdN New York: in its current incarnation, it is a competently put together orange-amber.
You may also want to try Parfums MDCI's Promesse de l'Aube, a beautiful chypre.

Orange Blossom by Jo Malone is a very acidic citrusy orange blossom done quite well.

Oranger d'Alhambra Armani Prive. It has the orange blossom and bergamote. It's a little quiet but very beautiful. I was doused in it today as a matter of fact.

I liked aPoM but it was too subtle. I [strike/]enjoy [/strike] learned to enjoy subtlety in fragrance but this one is too subtle.
