I still have a decent amount of money in my PayPal account so I thought I would purchase my very first Creed. I'm not too worried about blind-buying a bad one since I could easily resell it for most of the value (maybe a decent discount on Basenotes). I was hoping you could help me choose a fragrance. I'm looking more towards diversifying my wardrobe instead of buying similar fragrances at the moment so please keep that in mind.

My selection of a Creed is slightly limited since I really want to buy one that goes 100% towards a charity. If you don't like any of the Creeds I list in the poll, they have a slightly larger selection of Bond No. 9 that I can choose as well. I already own a Bond No. 9 (New Haarlem) which is why I'm leaning towards Creed. My final option is a decent amount of designer fragrances (A*Men, Dior Homme, Rochas Man, Versace Man, etc.) so please pick "None of the Above" if you think it's best to go that route. It'll probably take a little while before I buy this next fragrance since I have one coming in the mail soon but I thought it would be a good time to post a poll anyway.

Poll will be up in a couple minutes. Thank you!

edit: Green Irish Tweed looks like the winner. Thank you for the votes!

First Creed? Absolutly Aventus! But cant find it, so none of the above.
Aventus ftw.
Green Irish Tweed for me! I tried a sample of Aventus... it's beloved by many Basenote members, but there are so many other Creeds I'd rather own first. Just me though... I'm in the minority.

Aventus is their best.
Creed is 50% hype and 50% good fragrance, so only buy if it is on sale. GIT is very good too...but not worth the $200 more you will pay than if you bought Cool Water by Davidoff.
Bond no. 9 is also 50% hype...WAY overpriced but monster projection and longevity if you get one you like...I recommend New York Amber

Jardin D'Amalfi... /thread

since you have new haarlem, you dont need anything else from the bond house.

i say the safest buy from the creed house is green irish tweed. everybody likes green irish tweed.

whaaaat thats nonsense

creed makes nothing but quality. creed is 100% good fragrance and 0% poor people who cant afford it

If I were you, I'd get a nice 4oz bottle like I did on Fragnet and just use one of their many coupons to save some money. I got mine for ~~$130, which is pretty good considering how long it will last you. I suggest GIT as well.

Tabarome Millesime

100% agree. Such a great scent, and you wont smell like everyone else Excellent scent for any age, jeans or suit, classic and modern.

GIT is by far the safest.

Here's an idea, take the money you would spend on a 4oz bottle and buy a few different ones in decant style.

I was going to pick Royal Oud. So, NOTA.

I don't understand what you mean by that - any chance you could explain?
I went with Original Santal since Aventus wasn't on the list.
Green Irish Tweed is by far their best, and I personally think it is great you are supporting a charitable cause at the same time.
I would have gone for Aventus purely due to its versatility but in the end I also chose GIT, given that you are based in IL. I have no idea exactly what it's like up there, but I always had the impression that your winters are rather cold up there where this fragrance really shines.

Having said that, OV or MI are great summer scents by Creed, especially MI.

This eBay seller has a wide selection of fragrances but only ten Creeds that are for men or unisex. When I purchase it, the money goes 100% towards an organization that is dedicated to the rescue and placement of homeless cats and dogs.

Their feedback is 99.9% with over 9700 ratings so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a fake either. Great prices too since GIT is only $122.95 for a 4 oz.

Mill Creek Animal rescue on eBay? I've used them and do like to support their charity. Nothing but positive reviews for them - good shipping times, and solid prices on frags.

HOWEVER, don't be limited to what their store currently shows in stock - if you message them and inquire about something not currently listed, they will most likely be able to procure/list it for you.

I say Aventus All day Everyday, lol. My favorite in the creed house by a mile. But out of your list i'd say GIT is the safe scent though not too unique in my opinion (people may think you're wearing coolwater. so not a good investment to me). MI is also good but its kinda flat/one dimensional to me. I use it strictly as a blend (works great with vetivers, like tom ford grey vetiver or creed original vetiver. perfect suit and tie scent imo). You can also look into creed's Bois du Portugal for a classic fragrance. I believe Frank Sinatra wore it.

Side note about Aventus though. there's that other thread about fresca by ilum dean that's supposedly a very close clone of the Aventus pineapple batch for like 30 bucks. i ordered myself a sample. So you can always give that a shot too if you dont want to dishout the money for Aventus and get somethin else from the creed house, lol.

My two favorites are GIT and Aventus.

Actually glad to see the absence of Aventus from the list. My vote goes to Original Vetiver for its wearability and versatility.

I'd agree with this. I toggled back & forth between that & GIT. While GIT is, at the very least a "must try" for any fragrance lover IMO, OV is an underrated Creed gem (also just my opinion), with great versatility and, for a Creed, above average longevity.

Yes, that's the charity. I'll keep that in mind before I make my final purchase. Thank you!

No point in polling -- it was always going to be GIT without Aventus. VIW in the summer -- Original Santal now, shout for Orange Spice also.
I've tried to test out Creed scents every time I'm in Bloomingdales (4 times in the past month) and have consistently been underwhelmed by Green Irish Tweed, Aventus, and original Santal. The only Creed I enjoyed on more than one occasion was Virgin Island Water, which I found original and refreshing.

Looks like Green Irish Tweed is the winner barring a miracle from None of the Above. Thank you all who voted!
Green Irish Tweed and Bois du Portugal are the only Creeds that I've found worth my time so far. Since you don't list BdP, I guess my vote is for GIT.
My belated reply: GIT is a versatile and highly likable choice, good value for money and elegant in a contemporary, not dated, trendy way.

Can you please let us know if you received a good bottle from them? Thank you.

Being my first Creed I don't know much about batch variations. I do think that the bottle I received is way better than the current market Cool Water. Lot A3211X03 if you're curious.
