Best budget leathers?

I was thinking about this, and the only one which sprang to mind is Cuir de Lancome. What others are there?
Caractère by Daniel Hechter
Honestly, given its potency and relatively inexpensive price tag, I would say leather oud is quite affordable.
I like Cuir de Lancome, but don't find it very "leathery". Kind of like Tom of Finland - it is more of a suede.

for a budget leather, the only I can think of at the moment would be Dirty English, but even that isn't quite what I think of as a "leather" fragrance. The only other good leathers that come to mind are all > $70 / bottle.
I cant think in an cheap options except Cuir de Lancome, and this one is becoming expensive and rare.
Azuree, a confident citrusy leather, should still cost about $40 for 75ml regular price at dept stores.

Knize Ten is still reasonably priced...GREAT quality/price ratio IMO.
L'Essence de Cerutti by Cerutti is $29.99 for a 3.4 oz (100 ml) on eBay.
Gianfranco Ferre For Men, Trussardi Uomo Vintage (both not strictly leather prominent but with a leathery undertone).

Definitely this one.
Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve under $10
Quorum $15
Halston Z-14 $15
Enrico Sebastiano $25
Aramis $60
Fahrenheit $60

A lot of old school powerhouses have lots of leather.
So many...

Knize Ten
Habit Rouge
Aramis

three of my favorites that are very reasonably priced.
Golden Boy for less than $100. That seems pretty reasonable for a 3.4 oz EdP that smells very similar to Tuscan Leather.
Sienna by Crabtree & Evelyn
English Leather
I agree on Knize Ten and Aramis - roughly in the same price range, but a lot more difficult to find, are Farina Russisch Leder and SMN's amazing Peau d'Espagne.
Wow, no mention of Nicole Miller for men?? Easily the best leather scent under 20 bucks. You can get it for about 10 or 12 bucks a bottle. Has a great apple note which makes it quite unique.

Other reasonably priced leather fragrances:
John Varvatos
True Religion
Polo

A men Pure Leather
John Varvatos

Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

Imho THE 'best bang for the buck leather fragrance' award goes to...the $23 for 4oz ...

Elsha 1776 Russian Leather
Kolnisch Juchten by Parfums Regence cost me $65 for 100ml.. Dark, birtchy, smoky meat like leather that is better than anything I have smelled in the leather range. Unfortunately only one store in the US carries it but even given that fact I have found it easier to get than Knize 10 which nobody has in stock and also which I have never even sampled. Wish I knew what it smelled like...
Also, forgot. Guess by Marciano is an excellent budget leather scent.

Russisch Leder is not that difficult to find:

Looks like the OP should have specified exactly what he meant by budget. LOL. So, I will mentioned "cheapos:"

Everlast Original 1910
Bijan V.I.P. Men (suede)
Heir by Hilton (not suggesting it's a great scent)
Montana Parfum d'Homme (complex, so the leather note may not be strong enough for you there)
Vintage Cachet is also easy to get cheaply on ebay, sort of a light version of Aramis.
Axe "Music" is surprisingly good - reminiscent of Tuscan Leather but with cedar instead of raspberry.

Cuir de Lancome is the best bargain out there for leather, but I would also venture to say Cabochard, which can be bought from discounters.

Elsha 1776 Russian Leather

This one by a long shot.
I'd save money and buy Knize Ten.
Kind of soft and powdery leather, but one I appreciate is Trumper's Spanish Leather. Maybe not budget, but not expensive either.
I agree with Aramis
If Cuir de Lancome's current prices are "budget," then what is not a budget scent, other than Amouage, Clive Christian, Xerjoff, and perhaps one or two others?
Another vote for Aramis. I picked up a 60ml bottle for about 15 dollars not too long ago, so you can occasionally find it for quite cheap.
I had heard about Knize Ten on Basenotes since 2009.
I avoided it, thinking I don't like leather cologne, based on
pre-basenotes bias on leather based on English Leather.

Fast Forward to now...Got sample from Lucky Scent, ordered bottle next day.
Love it or Hate it...when you love it...you'll then consider Cuir de Russie (EXPENSIVE)

I did hear that Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve is damn good leather for VERY inexpensive.

When the time comes,
Knize Ten will spank you with it's Austrian Leather
...and you will like it.

+1 Nicole Miller for Men
Tommy Bahama Original

I've seen it available on eBay for about £30 about a year or so ago. I checked after starting the thread and couldn't find it. I'm not aware of a more recent price increase.

While seconding Caractere, Trumper Spanish Leather, Z14, Trussardi Uomo and English Leather, I'd also like to add Tabac Original and Avon Black Suede Touch (the latter including not just suede notes, but also leathery and gourmand ones).
Budget leathers are hard to find. Perhaps if you appreciate leathers from the late 60s ( Aramis), 70s ( drawng a blank !) and 80s ( Ferre Man, Caractere, Trussardi Uomo, Tenere, Or Black....etc) they are alot easier to come by. But finding a nice Spanish leather is really hard to come by at a cheap price ( under $50).

Most contemporary leathers are close to $100 ( if not more).

I also find the current Nicole Miller for Men to be lackluster in that it feels thin and not well lasting.

Aramis by Aramis;

Knize Ten by Knize;

Habanita by Molinard;

Azuree by Estée Lauder;

Cuir by Lancôme;

Cabochard by Grès;

Jolie Madame by Pierre Balmain;

Miss Balmain by Pierre Balmain.

Azuree!

Cuir Ottoman
Oud Cuir D' Arabie
Leather Oud

of the ones not already mentioned:  Dior Fahrenheit is under $50....

but I would spend $20 more and get Knize Ten

I'm not liking Aramis/Azuree/Cabochard Gres(all by Bernard Chant) as much as I used to, but they are all under $50 and worth a try

Midnight in Paris! balmy leather though but good stuff if you like leather..

This.

Best leather fragrance for the money  ($1 per ml.) is Mark Birley Charles Street.  It is not the cheapest one, but it is very easy to wear and smells great.

Knize Ten is very reasonable, especially if you purchase it outside of Europe, from First in Fragrance for example since you're not paying the VAT. Another great shout which hasn't been mentioned is Pascal Morabito Or Black, 45 Euro for the re-fill bottle.

Where can you find this? It sounds very interesting.

Id also like to throw Rien by ELDO in the ring. For only needing 1 spray per use that lasts you all day, I think $80.00 for 50 ml is quite a deal. Seriously powerful stuff.

Worth pour Homme. Won't break the bank at less than thirty smackers for a bottle. I guess I should do the basenotes thing and mention Heeley Cuir Pleine Fleur, since you said "budget". grin.gif

I love Dzing! - not super cheap but not super expensive either.

Apologies if already mentioned but Danial Hechter Caractere was available for about £10 last time I checked.
It was aftershave version but if it's the same as my bottle it is comparable to a decent EDT in sillage and longevity.

+1 Knize ten

+1 to Or Black - excellent underestimated leather - knize 10 is grt no doubt, but OB is good in its own way...another is Amen Parfum de Cuir.

Comme des Garcons BLACK Eau de Toilette - $100 for 100ml

Elsha? did I hear someone say Elsha!

Oh yes: Rien. Azuree is cool too: a tad more perfumey, perhaps...

Golden Boy, almost identical to tuscani leather.

People clearly have very different concepts when it comes to 'budget', seems as if many are confusing it with 'affordable'.

IIRC Lagerfeld Photo is similar to Knize 10, and it costs less than 20 USD:

Vermeil for men is a wonderful leather frag and can be found for under 30
L'essence de cerutti is fantastic also and very affordable
