Light Amber Fragrances

Hi, everyone. I'm not really a fan of amber-heavy fragrances, like Amber Absolute, Ambre 114, etc. What light amber fragrance(s) (like Sycomore is to vetiver fragrances) would you recommend?

Thanks

Take a look at Amber topkapi-MDCI or Amber-Prada

Dia Man is the best 'light amber' I have come across. There is much more to it than amber - somehow it manages to integrate coniferous, spice, incense, floral and subtle leather notes, without becoming a mess - but amber is a major player nonetheless.

Ambre Sultan?

Ambre Topkapi is a good suggestion.

CDG Anbar - Cologne-infused light amber, or is it ambery eau de cologne?
Atelier Cologne's Ambre Nue - A lighter fresher amber Absolute.
Must de Cartier Eau Fine - Rare/discontinued but worth the hunt. A lighter, less spicy Obsession for Men.

If I remember correctly, Andy Tauer's Incense Extreme has a very subtle amber at its drydown that makes the fragrance's frankincense glow. The same effect is in Amouage's Gold for women, except here the glow is bestowed upon indolic florals.

Apart from Prada Amber, there is hardly any lighter frag available out there.

Thanks again for all the suggestions; I will add them to my samples list. I've been giving Prada Amber PH full wearings this winter and loving it so far. So, most likely I will be buying a full bottle.

Why don't you try Ambre by Baldessarini?

Strange you mention Ambre 114 as been heavy as I find it to be the lightest amber I have tried, in fact I'm hard pressed to think of amber that is lighter.

My first thought as well. I think by amber heavy he means amber-centric.

Dark Amber and Ginger Lily by Jo Malone. Ignore the "Dark" in the name. This fragrance is an effervescent, light amber, tempered with ginger and Sun-warmed woods. Very uplifting yet comfortable like the light reflecting off the skyscrapers during the magic hour.

I've only tested Ambre 114 twice last year (by applying on my skin, not spraying) and remember it having the same dominant amber note as Amber Absolute's. I'll re-order a sample and give it another try.

Thanks! Just added it on my sample list.

Prada L'Eau Ambree.

L'Ambre des Merveilles from Hermes is pretty light in the Amber area. Another is Alien Essence Absolue Intense from Mugler. I think a man can definitely pull this one off.

As mentioned above, Prada Amber pour Homme.

I agree with all of the Prada ambers mentioned. But for an even lighter take on amber from that house, check out their new Luna Rossa.

Lavender is the star attraction here, but the dry down contains a very light version of Prada's signature amber accord. I picked up a bottle of this today at Macy's. Pure class in a bottle, I really love it. I could see this becoming my signature scent this spring. Those other Prada's are legendary, of course, but they were always a just too heavy on the amber for me.

Zara amber is a rather light amber, and pretty good--but hard to find especially in the US.

ok, maybe my suggestion is crappy. Jaguar Classic Amber

Halston Man Amber is really nice. Its dominated by incense and Oudh and sweetened a little by a light Amber. Its being sold for a decent price on ebay right now.

I love Ambre Narguile...But it just doesn't last long enough ("spray more on then") ok!
Halston Man Amber is lightly sweet and dryly woody. In the Family of Eav des Beauxxxxxx , which is also very beautiful and affordable.

Never forget about the Head Shop Amber Oils and the various mixtures (can be cloying though) but cheeep.
