Royal Oud, because pineapples are my favorite edible bromeliad.

Oh is this not the Old Spice, to decant or not decant thread?
Sorry to have troubled you...

Hahaha well done, Martin. There are a dozen of those identical threads atm, aren't there!

My favourite Creed is VIW.

Aventus gets loads of compliments but doesn't impress me.

VIW is one of the finest summer scents I've ever smelled, and has surprisingly good projection and longevity.
A tropical holiday in a bottle.

From the ones I've tried, I like (and own) Silver Mountain Water the best.

Did no one else get the joke in the thread title? I thought it was funny.

So far for me, it's Royal Oud. I haven't had a chance to smell Windsor, Vintage Tabarome, or BdP yet though.

I love the smoky pineapple of their imitation Fresco.

Of course, the title is clever, but I find more amusing the absence of the suggested favorite from anyone's response. Good taste on the RO, btw, but you really must try the others as well.

GIT probably is my fav at the moment.
SMW is the highest compliment getter by far.
Aventus is good and I find myself reaching for it more often but not anything close to the hype.
I have only smelt 3.

Out of those 3, sorry but its Aventus

I gave my SMW sample to my mother. She agreed with me, its a bit to feminine for my liking, and it also smells dated. Not very current or modern.

I have kept my GIT sample, i can appreciate it and i think its ok, but again, it also feels very dated. The aqua cool water vibe isnt something that appeals to my tastes, and aqua scents tend to make me feel a little sick in the stomache, although it is tastefully done, and more impressive than cool water.

I am very keen to sample more Creeds, particually Pure White Cologne, Spice and Wood, and Royal Oud, but i guess that involves more purchases from them, which just isnt happening right now...

Right now, I only have Aventus, and I have the batch where it's heavy on the smoke portion. I enjoy it, but not as much as a certain sample I had from California in the summer of 2012 where it was extremely fruity and apple heavy. If I can get my hands on that, then I believe it'll be my signature scent for three seasons (I think summer will be too hot for it)

I'm looking towards GIT and SMW for the spring, however. I've read reviews and supposedly they're both good for spring, but I was hoping someone could provide more details to the strengths and weaknesses each has?
i really like aventus, A LOT, but it isn't my #1 favorite

it's my third favorite, behind Virgin Island Water and Silver Mountain Water.

and Green Irish Tweed comes close to Aventus in quality.

This is just my subjective own personal tastes.

I think GIT is a nicer scent than SMW.

They both would be good for the spring season, although if i had to choose id say GIT for spring SMW for summer.

GIT smells more green and fresh, like out in the meadow, but its still a very aqua scent. To me it does conjour up a mood of fresh spring mornings, mild weather, not hot.

SMW has a metallic watery vibe, like gin and tonic, but with a noticable feminine sweetness (IMO). Id say its more suitable for a warmer day, like spring going into summer.

GIT is definitley more masculine (IMO).

I couldnt contemplate wearing SMW, although its no more feminine than the CK unisex scents of the 1990's

Well from the Creed line men only, Aventus is my fav. and in general, in comparison with other male fragrance.

Why? it works on me, it lasts. I love the pineapple, pepper almost gasoline smell of it. It's a dominant male scent, that ISN'T Miami beach, greasy hair and gold chains. When I walk the line in designer 'wear'....most pitch from that angle and have that dna imo. My GF turns her nose up at EVERYONE of em (except Polo DB).

That said, my favorite Creed is...
Jardin D' Amalfi -> Original Vetiver -> Aventus.
Millesime Imperial followed by Jardin d' Amalfi.

Yeah, Royal Oud was a real surprise for me. I was expecting something totally different with "Oud" in the title, but even though oud is barely a player in it, I find it quite well blended, smooth, and comforting over all.

Well made, even if not well named.

I might see if I can pick up BdP while I'm in the States, but I'd have to smell it somewhere first, and where I'm staying doesn't have many outlets around where I could, unfortunately, and that one I'd be a bit hesitant to go blind on.

Exclusive line, Windsor. Regular line, Silver Mountain Water.
I love Virgin Island Water, Bois du Portugal and Himalaya but my favorite is Aventus.
Windsor. But if all the other Creeds disappear I am willing to consider Aventus.

Millesime Imperial

Windsor (2009)
I'm probably one of the few who enjoy wearing Creed Cuir de Russie.
Windsor, Jardin d'Amalfi, Spice and Wood, Silver Mountain Water, Millesime Imperial
post #38 of 55
I love my Bois du Portugal. I can get the lot # if needed.
Green Irish Tweed mainly because it's the only Creed I own that's listed as masculine. All my others are listed as unisex.
oh, all right then. Bois Du portugal.

This is my favorite title for a thread in all my time reading basenotes.

Apart from that, I think I am coming to the conclusion that Creed makes the best smelling colognes of any house, to my nose. And yet, their production variables keep me from saying it's my favorite house.

Right now, I think VIW, GIT, MI, SMW, Royal Oud, Windsor, Original Vetiver, Neroli Sauvage, Bois de Cedrat, and Angelique Encens (RIP) are all bottle worthy.

Though I just read Dullah's post and must try this Scent of Oger . . . .
LOL...Gotta go with that one!

Because, life's like a bottle of Creed fragrance... you never know what batch you're gonna get.
I would consider myself far from a Creed fanboy, but I have to admit that several of their
fragrances are truly excellent. Among those I would count the following (of which I either have
full bottles or decants of)

Green Irish Tweed
Bois du Portugal
Aventus
Silver Mountain Water
and Windsor (2010 batch).

All of these are excellent fragrances.
If I had to choose a favorite, right now
it would be Silver Mountain Water, with Aventus
and GIT a close second.

I love Windsor as well, but not as much as many
others here on the forums. (Maybe it's because
I have a decant of the "new" version, and not the
original?)

In any case, Creed is an excellent fragrance house.
Don't believe the hype, and don't take anyone's word
for it however...you need to experience all of their fragrances
from an atomizer if possible, and then decide for yourself.

My favorites are BDP, REL and OV - in no particular order and all of them truly enjoyed by me.
Git.
My two faves are Aventus and Millesime Imperial. I have a bottle of Aventus so I know what's it like to wear it after a spray. With MI I only have a vial, but I think if I get a great batch bottle, I mean this stuff will be mind-blowing in the summer.
While Vintage Tabarome is something to behold, it is so difficult to obtain.

Therefore, I would say, Tabarome Millesime, for its beauty and availability.

A scent that stands apart, for me, from the Creed house...

Happy Sunday to all - cheers,

ericrico
