La Nuit De L'Homme

Finally I bought this one. I usually buy perfumes in a day or two after giving it a try (& only If I found it to be good ), but, this one took a long long time for me to decide. I tried it a couple of times but could not made up my mind because of two reasons..1. It was pretty costlier than the other probables on my list, & 2. I was not very impressed with it to that extent, until a few days back when I smelled it on one of my colleagues. I asked him abt the frag he was wearing and I was surprised when he told me that it was La Nuit. I immediately made up my mind to buy it,and, the best part was that, I spotted it on the discount shelf and bought it for $50 for a 3.4 oz bottle (it usually sells at $90-105 here).
I wonder how it smelled so different on someone else? May be the skin chemistry..!

Nice pickup, La nuit will always be a staple in my collection. Its an awesome scent and have yet to meet anyone who didn't like it

Glad it's in my collection also.

I've only had a small tester of LaNuit, but it's very nice. And usually I don't care for the sweet ones. Wife and daughters liked it alot too. This may be on my "to buy" list, though I don't think it's the most versatile frag in the world. Really more of a nighttime/dating/formal frag.

Best night time frag out now IMO It attracts attention

It's not unpleasant, but I don't really care for this one.

This may or may not be of significance to you, but I have asked at least 5 girls to pick the nicest frag from my very modest and small collection and every single one, in a blind test, has picked La Nuit. Without fail. And it really wasn't close either. I was very 50/50 at first but it is getting nicer and nicer and more interesting every time I wear it.

I will say this though -- I have extensively worn both the EDT and EDP versions and in my view, there is no contest. I know many others will disagree but to me, the EDT is vastly superior. I do not really like the EDP version.

*as a total aside, I am similarly starting to think that the EDT of TDH > PP*

All that said, please bear in mind that I speak from complete ignorance and wish not to imply otherwise.

Skin chemistry. I also think the fact that you are smelling it from further away or are smelling the sillage means the scent smells different.

Far too sweet for me, but I find spraying on my skin often seems to accentuate sweetness.

Ditto. But I'm glad the OP found one he really enjoys.

Also, the sillage you smelled on your coworker gave you a different impression more than likely because you got to smell it more dispersed and from farther away. Skin chemistry might have also affected it, as well as how much, and how concentrated his sprays were, but you can experiment with it a bit now that you have your own bottle.

Best to use it at night, as the name suggests. Lady killer.
I have only worn it 2-3 times, and wasn't really that impressed. I do need to give it a few more wearings though.

I own the EdP. It's nice stuff. Use sparingly. Seems very much in a modern, nice, and kind of stupid mode. Like meeting an attractive person who you can tell is not very smart within the first 15 minutes or so after you've met. Attractive, but a bit on the shallow side. You wish there was a little more depth there to hang onto. Still, the attractive surfaces have some appeal. . .

I enjoy it. Different from a lot of the generic designer fragrances that are on the market today.

Cool frag. Enjoy!

Love it! Have the edp and edt. Layer them on my skin=Beauty. Nothing but compliments. Will always have my bottles of this one.
I think it's one of best modern designer scents.

+1. I enjoy it on others, but think its too sweet and feminine for me.

Would love to see a 1 Million vs La Nuit poll.

These seem to be similar in that they're both sweet, not very appealing to fragheads, but both of them do well in terms of garnering compliments from women.

nice juice but there is something missing, maybe should be woodier!
Nice fragrance idk if it's full bottle worthy tho. I am to the point now where I am only buying fragrances that I absolutely love or if I find a great deal on ones that I like.

This is probably a perfect example of how taste changes! There was I time when I looked at it as a mediocre scent and then months later, all of a sudden, it hit me like a WOW fragrance when I smelled it on one of my colleagues, I was tempted to buy a full sized bottle. And now after a few wearings/months, I'm fed up with this...so much so that I sold my bottle to the same colleague I wonder how a scent reacts on different skins...this was certainly not for me!
Another lesson learnt!

My favorite scent in my collection, definitely a ladykiller.

Congrats on the purchase. It's really good juice. Sexy in a bottle.

Great price for a truly good scent.
It is a great perfume.
I'm thinking of buying the whole set of shower gel and edt just for backup, its like 10$ more than the perfume alone, I think around 69$
post #27 of 33
It's a really good scent but nothing fabulous about it. Yes, it's possible that it develops and smells a bit different on someone else as skin chemistry, level of different hormones, etc. influence the way a certain frag will smell on a person.
I would purchase the entire set for a few $$$ more. This fragrance is wonderful and gets many, many compliments. Will always be a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.
It smells very nice , tried it 2 days ago, but I prefer Le Parfume .
I sold a huge bottle if this at 100ml to a fellow co worker of mine on a drunk rant about colognes for only $20. Its was about 85 percent full too. lol I kick myself till this day for that!
Definitely one of my favorites in my collection. I know its supposed to be a "night" scent but I wear it anytime. Always generates positive responses.
