It smelt like ginger and summer at the beach...

I smelt a fragrance today as I walked through the crowd and it smelt like a ginger base note topped with an aquatic beach breeze. Totally summer.

Any idea what it was? It seemed familiar, really familiar like a blast from the past so it may be an older EDT.

Any ideas?

Just guessing based on the note pyramid

Not exactly an older EDT, but those ozone aquatic accords almost all smell pretty similar to me...

Thanks for that folks, I'll look into what you've listed. I checked through stuff from my childhood like Eternity and such like as it really was a blast from the past. It would have been something quite easily available and cheap for that era.

L'Homme Cologne Gingembre sounds really interesting for the 5 minutes it appears to visit for

I think I've found it, it sounds like 212 Men H2o... Anyone tried this as the reviews are scant at best.

If I may add this belated comment: L'Homme Cologne Gingembre seemed the most likely choice to me even long before I read the actual fragrance recommendations, I don't exactly know why, but this is one of the scents that make me automatically think that summer and ginger notes go very well together.

Yes, it definitely sounds like Dior Homme Sport. I would also strongly recommend Armani's Acqua Di Gio Essenza. It is an edp and smells wonderful. I am certain to be sporting this one for Summer, 2013.
