Amouage have increased their prices. Again!

Amouage have increased their prices over the last week or so by another 6%.

I guess the moves comes after TF Privte blend went up over 5%.

Good thing I don't care for their fragrances.
All these price increases from all the houses are getting out of hands in my opinion!!!
Not surprising.

I'll never understand pricing. The juice, box, and bottle probably cost way less than half of the total asking price. I'm just glad I got my Memoir Man already .

The worst price rise is Lyric Man.100ml from £145 to £175

Well if you continue to pay at their inflated prices, they will continue to raise it. Hold back from buying, the fragrance house will learn its lesson.

Never purchased any full bottles of Amouage frags. These companies are making it rough to continue collecting.

Glad I bought my full bottle of Jubilation XXV before!

Sad indeed. MM and JXXV are stellar.

I would rather see an honest price increase than a secret dimunition in product quality.
I would rather see Amouage stick with the niche shops,
I am really loosing interest seeing it at airports and giant perfume shops.

This is why I stick more or less exclusively to grey market on these things. It's hard to respect this kind of pricing honestly.

Ouch. It pains me to say this, but I agree completely. I hate price increases, but I hate inferior reformulations even more. Interlude Man is astounding.
Good for them. I'll buy more.
i havent even opened my opus vi and epic man and glad i've bought it already, don't know whats the story in malaysia, i am currently only using the samples which came with the two-bottle purchase, but the next one Beloved MAN is already slated to be at-least USD 415.00!!!! hoping that it won't be intriguing enough for me to buy, just like Interlude.

When one of the brands decreases prices that will be news - in the mean time life goes on
post #19 of 29
I haven't bought an Amouage since they reformulated Ubar (shortly after receiving a five star review in The Guide) and I will keep it that way - with my stock of Lyric Extrait in the basement.
utterly love Amouage
won't spend that incredible amount of money on Beloved Man, since no scent is worth all that money
Ford is another matter it's just EA playing the game of niche, but it is not niche at all!
Prices go up when sales (steadily) go up. Ironic huh?

This.

Anyway, that's why we have splits.

+1 Amouage is way over-priced and can be had at a reasonable discount if you look around, at least here in the UK...
I've pretty much cheated and purchased my Amouages with a pretty good discount from a fellow BN'er. I don't love all of them, but I love some of them to bits and would no doubt purchase them again even with this price hike.

Also, strawberrynet has 10% off everything out the 29th. I got 100 ml of Dia and Ciel from them a couple of days ago, meaning I'm pretty much covered Amouage-wise. I do like Epic and might get it later on to "finish" my collection, but it's strong as hell, projecting as the swine flue and I'm unsure about whether I can actually use it (like Gold - hello GOLD MAN IN CAPS BEING KIND OF LOUD).

Long story short - some of their fragrances is worth the price hike to me, while others are not.

Where is the discount against the RRP in the UK outside of the dodgy eBay world?
Darn - hate to see the prices go up. However, I don't have any animosity towards the companies that do it - they are a business, and maximizing profits should be what they do. Just like maximizing utility should be what consumers do. Supply / Demand. Simple, beautiful, fair. But a bummer if you are in the market for one of these right now.

I think the Opus line has been the hit the hardest...

2010: £195.00
2011: £195.00
2012: £200.00
2013: £240.00

It's a good thing I own everything that I love from this line (and after smelling Opus VII, I know it's definitely not for me).

Totally! Such is greed...

But they're currently doing both!
Well the price increase hasn't affected the price of Amouage samples from Parfumraffy. Before I got my full bottle of Refection, I would simply buy a few 2 ml Reflection samples for $6 each. That's $3/1ml, which isn't that bad. Slightly less cost effective than buying a 100 ml bottle for about $260 ($2.60/1ml), but cash flow wise- it works for me. I can buy 5 samples (10ml total) for about $30 + s&h, and those samples are gonna last me a few months, as I have several other fragrances that I rotate, as do most of us. So I did that for quite some time before I pulled the trigger on Reflection. My next Amouage purchase is Interlude, but until I have the money for a full bottle, I'm either getting in on a split, or simply going the parfumraffy sample route.

Remember, my friends, in these obscure stores/ tobacconists these are lot of forgotten gems (top quality too) from the past, awaiting to be re-discovered.... and mostly for a few euro/dollars.
