Introduce me to Guerlain

Most of my experience with this house occurred over a decade ago. I've done casual sampling here and there, but nothing to render a decision. If I were to pull the trigger on something, should it be Vetiver, Heritage, Imperial, etc.?

Overall I think Vetiver would be the safest, Heritage the classiest all rounder, Mouchoir De Monsieur the classiest old school scent and L'Instant Extreme the best modern choice.
I would personally choose Heritage.

Guerlain Homme would be the safest, then probably L'instant EDT.

it really depends on what you generally like...Vetiver, Heritage and Habit Rouge could be some good starters...

Yup. I agree with alfarom. You can start with those three he mentioned above.

Chamade Pour Homme

If you dont like Habit Rouge is better to keep with just Linstant Extreme and Guerlain Homme.
But if you like theres a whole new world opened for you, like Shalimar, LHeure Bleue, Mitsouko, etc.

Depends really on which fragrance family you prefer. I could suggest MdM, but you might hate aromatic fougères. Same goes with any other scents in the range.

I would go with L' Instant EDT

Coriolan is my preference and although discontinued can still be found at reasonable prices.

Are you talking about blind buying or will you be able to sample? If blind, then I also believe that Homme is the safest (minty fresh lime), although I prefer the Homme Intense myself. If you are able to sample first, then based on your wardrobe, I'd suggest sampling Bois d'Armenie. And of course Tonka Imperiale and Spiritueuse Double Vanille were both released within the last ten years, and are well worth sampling.

My favorites would be Jicky (civet fougere) or Derby (woody citrusy leathery, but very expensive).

Guerlain Homme Intense (my SotD) is probably my favorite from that house, and quite safe and versatile.

Meteorites.

If you're not quite that bold, then Mitsouko can't be beat.

Ditto. I own all 3 of these and they were all very early acquisitions, they smell so good that few people dislike them, so i think alfarom has lent some good advice.

Since it hasn't yet been mentioned, I'd like to throw in Eau de Guerlain as one of their best in addition to some others mentioned above.
My favorites are Derby, Habit Rouge and L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme (aka LIDGE).
Heritage, Coriolan, LIDG or LIDGE are tops on my list.

Habit Rouge easy blind buy!
