Who is the perfumer that most impressed you with one creation and disappoint you with another?
I'm sure every perfumer has their fair share of goods and bads according to personal tastes.

Just about all of them.

Serge Lutens.

I'd say all of them at one point. Can't please everyone.

Its kind of like a song writer. Everyone won't be solid gold.

Andy Tauer, hands down.

Plainly and simply Hugo Boss (or the perfumers and fragrance creations of this brand), a very mixed bunch, from the (nearly) brilliant to the the strikingly disappointing.

Recent YSL releases under L'Oreal have been incredibly underwhelming. How many more unspectacular L'Homme flankers do we need? Also, the incredibly thoughtless decision to not only discontinue several of their greatest fragrances, but then to have the nerve to re-release them in a sub-niche collection, with less juice (and, arguably, lesser quality juice) and for more money.

Jacques Polge. I don't get how the same guy who made Egoiste and 31 Rue Cambon also made Jersey.

I retract my nominee. It's definitely Lorenzo.
At least Serge redeems himself in between fails.

Absolutely. After Hugo, bottled, elements, and baldesarrini, it's been down hill
