New Haarlem or Chergui...hard to decide.

So my final decision on which cologne to get this payday has come between these two. I have already purchased Le Male and Angel Men in the past both which I love, and Im still waiting on getting LIDGE but tried a sample of it and loved it as well. I want something that is going to work well at work as well as going out, and from what I've read and heard New Haarlem is strictly a going out scent. I find the maple syrup/creamy vanilla latte combo to sound interesting as well as the hay note with honey/tobacco of Chergui.

Which one of these would you go with or do you prefer?

Well I haven't tried New Haarlem yet but I find Chergui very very sweet and sirupy although I like it. It's not a fragrance that I wear for work though...

Go with Chergui.

Can't go wrong with either one. Chergui might be more work appropriate but I've worn both to work before. It's all about moderation.

I love and own New Haarlem, but I'd pick up Chergui. I already own some similar scents to it (Sova, though not nearly the same really), and I'm still considering picking it up.

I've had chances to buy Chergui, but I keep refraining because it's a bit too pungently sweet/spicy for me, and I usually like very spicy. I'd go with the New Haarlem, actually more versatile and accessible to the average nose I'd guess.

Still, to buy either one without testing first? Nice that money is no object.

Having tried both, I say New Haarlem is much better.

Well OP, now you have a thread full of people telling you which of the two they like best - has it helped you decide which YOU like best? There's really only one way to know for sure: sample both and buy your favourite!

For what it's worth, I prefer Chergui - and not just because it's about half the price of a Bond No. 9 either.

Check your local discount stores for New Haarlem (they're at Winners for $75-$100 in Canada). I personally find New Haarlem to be too sweet.
