My Date's Surprising Preference - More Reason For Variety

So I've been taking this little lady out lately, and have been sticking to one of my newer colognes... one night, I decided I'd change it up (quite honestly, I was surprised she hadnt mentioned how it smelled, so I figured I may as well not waste the good stuff )

On our last visit, I changed it up as planned. She must have commented on the smell 5 times in a 3 hour period. She even went so far as to say "I like this one way better than what you normally wear!"

The first cologne that evoked no comments... Aventus by Creed.

The second that she thought was dramatically better... "The One" by D&G haha

Not shocking. The One is a panty-dropper if the chick is close enough to you to smell it.

Guess you need to find a new girl.

Actually, The One is a great fragrance. I will always have it in my collection.

The One is my sig fragrance, but I have 60ml of Aventus on the way so we will see for how long.

I'll take Aventus anytime over the other regardless of compliments.

Must have been a short date for her to smell The One. The scent is nice but the projection and longevity is horrible. Hope the date went well bro.

I'm glad my wife is already stuck with me as she doesn't like a few of my favorite frags!

As will I.

I must say I have been wearing Aventus for the past week at work. I don't expect people at this law firm to mention things like "you smell good" but I haven't gotten even a comment from my wife..and its been lasting. Funny, I went back to TdH today and I felt much better in "this skin" than with Aventus.

I might revisit "The One." It is one of those that came off "powdery" on my skin before.

It's good to change it up because not every girl likes the same scent. For example my girlfriend is in love with Aventus, but tells me the one smells like a gross shrimp dinner lol.

I practically got raped when I wore Aventus one time. Just goes to show you that everyone has olfactive diversity.

I enjoy Aventus very much, but you can add me to the list of those who get no compliments while wearing it. Luckily, I have a bunch of others that get me tons of compliments.

This doesn't mean anything except she prefers D&G over Aventus.

This is an excellent thread topic. I hope others follow suit.

"The One" is pretty nice. Still not a big fan of Aventus.

My gf thinks Aventus is abysmal (based on one official sample and a decant from theperfumedcourt that I've given full wearings), while she used to always ask what I was wearing and really like it everytime I wore The One (now she knows whenever I wear it).

Consider your girlfriend a keeper.

I guess it's not always about price. I love The One but get zero longevity out of it so my wife wouldn't be able to smell it on me anyway!

The Aventus bottle that the Perfumed Court have is the 2010 K04 which is the one no one likes.

Damn Creed and their batches. Good thing I won't have to worry about that when I purchase a bottle of OV and BdP in the near future.

I'm actually kind of weird, because that ashy batch from The Perfumed Court was my first sample of Aventus a couple of years ago, and I prefer it over the later pineapple heavy batches. That smoky birch note is what makes Aventus for me.

After several years of trying nearly every supposed "great for dates" scents, The One is the cologne I wear on nearly every date now.

Just for variety, I sometimes wear New Haarlem and GIT. But The One has consistently gotten the most compliments. One woman went absolutely bonkers for it, and even asked me to spray it on her pillow afterwards. Maybe I should look her up . . . .
