At a loss. Help! What samples do you recommend I should try?

Hello Basenoters!

I'm getting ready to place a sample order at LS and could use some good ideas based on what I like so far. The scents I really dig are:

Creed Royal Oud
Creed Aventus
Amouge Memior Man & XXV
Creed Acier Aluminuim (crazy I know!)
Clive Christian X
Creed GIT
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
MDCI Invasion Barbare ( My all time favorite scent so far)

I'm at a loss on what to try next. Considering all of my favorites above, what would you guys recommend I should try? Thanks!

You seem to favor smooth, clean modern woody-resiny scents. Off the top of my head, Sartorial is a "nugere" like IB (though cleaner and less rich than IB). To move to something a little stronger, you could check ELdO Je suis un homme, woody-incensy.

I own and love many from your list. LuckyScent carries by Killian. You should explore those. I would suggest:

Straight to Heaven
Incense Oud
Back to Black
Cruel Intentions

If you like Invasion Barbare, try out Histoires de Parfums 1725, and see how it compares.

I'll +1 the suggestions for Straight to Heaven, Back to Black by By Kilian and Creed's Millesime Imperial.

Based on your list you might also enjoy:

Maison Francis Kurkdjian - APOM
Maison Francis Kurkdjian - Lumiere Noire Pour Homme
Serge Lutens - Fille en Aiguilles
Serge Lutens - Gris Clair
Xerjoff - Uden
Xerjoff - Kobe

And for something a little off beat but maybe not too far out of what you've been trying, give these a shot, as you might really like them:

Tauer - Incense Rose
Lubin - Idole (EdP or EdT are both good)
YSL - M7 (the older ones are supposed to be better, but I've only smelled the first reformulation)
Bond no. 9 - Silver Factory
Comme des Garcons - Kyoto

Well, he already likes the ones on the list. I think he's asking for suggestions based on his tastes.

The main thing these fragrances have in common to me is relatively high price, unfortunately.

Wow, LS has a lot to choose from. How about Frapin 1270 or Lubin Akkad?

Based off a few of the scents on your list you could try a few on Montale's Aouds although I find the agarwood in them to be much stronger than Royal Oud. You could also try Chypre Palatin by MDCI as well as Black Afgano by Nasomatto. Black Afgano really has nothing to do with anything on your list, but I enjoy some of the scents you have listed and I also enjoy Black Afgano. So maybe our tastes are somewhat similar.
