Or unique, modern, and well-done?


I feel like this is one of those frags that I may be overlooking for the simple fact basenotes doesn't talk about it much.

Any fans?

It's a very casual fragrance. If fun is juvenile then yes it's juvenile. I'll take it over 1 Million any day of the week.

I have it on my "maybe" list. On some days I find it fun. Some...well not so much. It is a different gourmand than the usual players tho

Hmmmm I mean it's synthetic, bit it's a very pleasant youthful, sweet fragrance. It ain't no Serge Lutens is what I am trying to say, but it's just right in what it should be. Raspberryish. I own the Denim edition, and it's definitely lighter than the regular edition. Regular edition packs quite a punch. Will get you noticed so it's good.

Out of those it's more in the range of Black XS. It is on the sweet side with the heliotrope and raspberry. Throw in some freshness and that's pretty much FFL in a nutshell. I like the original version over the Denim, although they're very similar. Think raspberry sweet tarts.

I agree with Silent on the Black XS comparison. They smell nothing alike though, but they are playful yet very wearable. My problem with FFL is it projects so damn much, and when you project a note like raspberry so much, it draws too much attention to yourself. Almost like when you walk into an Abercrombie store, and the whole place reeks of Fierce fragrance.

This fragrance projects more as it settles.. I highly recommend you do not spray it near your neck or face.

I really do enjoy FFL though, it's different than most stuff out there. If you have ever tried Lacoste Elegance, that is the closest thing I can compare it to.

I recently bought DFfL after ignoring it for years. Cheap? Yes. Synthetic? Since it doesnt have ingredients freshly squeezed from their natural fruits, plants, etc, yes. Juvenile? I would say "youthful", if that means fresh and fun-filled. I like it and wear it without reservations.

Purely on smell however, I gotta go with the denim (the denim material looks better too). You should sample these I also think they are underrated (as is Only the Brave).

p.s. if you end up liking how it smells, I'll be putting most of my wardrobe for sale pretty soon, including my 2.5 oz Denim (used about 10 times) for like $35 total.

Had it and used it up within the last year. I enjoyed it well enough, it's definitely a 'pleasant' scent, but it's not something I see myself buying again anytime soon (mainly thanks to this forum and the discovery or soooo many other great fragrances).

Thanks, comfortablynumbbg, Sounds pretty good. I like mine on the lighter side anyway, so I'd probably go with the denim given the choice. I actually just happened to see it earlier today in a jewelry store. I'm definitely going to order a sample of this (I'm cutting back on the blind buying this month seeing how my wife will kill me if she finds another package at the door).

I'll let you know what I think!

Interesting how times change. When it first came out it was generally quite well received here, and never described in those terms.

I can't see what's juvenile about it.
Synthetic - I'm not a misanthrope, mankind is part of nature and makes good scents.
Cheap smelling - relative to what? I thought it was pretty classy.

Buysblind, check out Walgreens and CVS, I don't think your wife would mind a 21 dollar purchase there. I picked up the 50 ml FFL at my local CVS some time ago.. at least 1 year and a half ago. It was marked half off I believe. If not FFL, you should check it out for blind buys, you can get some great deals.

Nothing wrong with shopping in drugstores, I have gotten a 4.2 oz Cool Water for 12 bucks at Walgreens; Polo Sport 4.2 oz for around 22 I think (hard to find Polo Sport for this low), Romance Silver 1.7 oz for 20, Polo (original) 4 oz for 25 -- to name a few of the better deals.

Keep your eyes peeled!

I used to own FFL. It may be cheaper than the massively overpriced and overhyped Aventus for example (seriously, can we not manage a single thread without bringing that fragrance up?) but I don't see how it's any more synthetic or juvenile than a lot of great fragrances out there.

I don't care for it until the dry down. The problem is that it's so in your face for the first couple of hours that you can't avoid it. Someone else mentioned a powdery element in the dry down which I perceive as more of a soapy element.
