(Rarities) How many bottles produced?

An interesting question:
Is it possible to know the "rarity" of a scent, by number of "bottles" produced (similarly to wines, for example!), or analogue data ?

For example, perfume X , 350.000 bottles produced in 36 years, then discontinued or :
perfume Y, 200.000 bottles produced in 7 years, then re-formulated.....

I do not think any company will record that information.

By the way, in 2012 Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella producted 400 bottles of special perfumes named 'Ottone and Porcellana' for their 400th anniversary of the founding of the Officina Profumo - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella.

The buyer name is going to be enscript on the wall of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy and also be invited to the party in Italy.

Ottone is too perfumy for my taste.

Ottone and Porcellana mark the opening of the festivities commemorating the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Officina Profumo - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. The selection of the names reflects the Officinas return to countries where it was known in the 18th century. Ottone takes us to northern Europe, Germany and Russia, while Porcellana lead us to the Far East, birthplace of this elegant material and whose tradition the Medicis found extraordinarily fascinating. Ottone is enveloping and decisive, Porcellana is delicate and romantic.

I am sure the manufacturers keep numbers, but doubt they will release.

You may find several Niche and Indie perfumers only produce a said amount. O'driù is typical of doing this with their perfumes. If you view their website, they will tell you how many bottles were produced from said batch.

Several houses, including the likes of Guerlain produces limited editions which are generally numbered.

They have it. They won't divulge it though.

Clive Christian stated on their website when it was available, how many No. 1 limited in Baccarat crystal were produced and available for purchase, so some companies do.
