Will I like Tobacco Vanille?

Thread Starter
I really like Dior Homme Intense, Back to Black and other chocolate/vanilla scents.

Will I like Tobacco Vanille?

How many sprays should I apply when going out nights?

I am considering to buy TV blind (100ml).

Thanks.

DHI = lipstick but I like it!

Back To Black has a nice berry drydown but is very in your face at the beginning.

That's where Back To Black is somewhat simular to TV: easy on the trigger! One spray is enough for me. TV has a very nice drydown: vanilla/honey all day long and great projection.

You should SAMPLE it first though... Or join a split on the board?

Yes you will.

2 or 3 sprays.

Yeah, sample it first or get in on a split. You don't want to pay that type of dough and find out you don't like it. Then you may have to sell it to me for little of nothing!...

Tobacco Vanille is similar to Back to Black. But, TV is drier and more masculine, IMO. I usually do 1/4 to 1/2 (quarter to hlaf) spray on both side of my neck, and it projects very well, without being offensive, and lasts all day.

3 sprays on me and I smell like a cigar all day. 2 is probably plenty.

Most do like it. i personally love it. it has pretty good longevity and projection, so it only takes 2-3 sprays and you're good for several hours. Many people do TV splits here on BN, so you could check the splits forum.

I blind buy all the time, and TV is a pretty safe one based on what you like.
However, I still recommend trying something first, so if you can easily get a sample to try first, that would be best, but TV is a great fragrance, and seems like it might be a good fit for what you like.

Great fragrance with excellent projection and longevity. You get an excellent bang for the buck with this one. Get a decant of it. You will enjoy very much.

I love vanilla fragrances. Tobacco Vanille is my favorite.

There is no chocolate, so if that's what you like, you may preffer Rochas Man. It's 1/10th the price of TV.

I like it a lot.

I do 2 sprays.

I would not buy 100mls of it based on the two times I've worn it... it'd take me 50 years to go through that much of it.

Unless you don't like cherry pipe tobacco, you will like it.

I am blind buying 250ml decant bottle. What's the fun in sampling?

If you like Pure Havane or vintage Michael Kors then go for it!
Hard to know. You might like it. I did not.

Is the tobacco in this juice comparable to pipe tobacco?

To my nose, tobacco leaves.

Probably. Very sweet, very powerful, very quality. I think in terms of likeability, this is universal, how can you not like sweet vanilla done so magnificently?

It's really a 10 out of 10 masterpiece, a God really. I mean you got incredible quality, ridiculous long lasting (the only fragrance in my collection that last more than 1 day, and almost pull 2 days). Projection is very good, after 8 hours you might think oh it's close to the skin, but walk around and others still get a whiff of vanilla. 1 spray will probably do the job of 3-4 sprays of other things. 2 sprays even better. No need to go for more. I do one on the chest and one on the back of the neck and I radiate vanilla goodness for at least 12 strong hours (every single time, and on good days it far exceeds that). A perfect fragrance, and my all time number 2 (only Dior Homme Intense surpasses it due to the intoxicating smell....this has Dior beat in performance though).

I believe you will like it. One spray is enough. I even use a little distance when I spray. It is potent stuff.

I must be the only one that thinks "meh". I visited a Tom Ford counter in SF last year and this is the first scent I tried. Nice and safe. Not a challenge at all and something that anyone would like. High marks and a lovely thing...just sort of unexciting for such a hyped fragrance.

I think you will love it. This one is my current favorite colder weather scent.

I actually hoped that Pure Havane was going to smell like TV, but alas, no, PH is nowhere near as good.

Yeah, it actually took me a while to enjoy PH. It's definitely no TV. Once I stopped comparing it to TV and began wearing it more in the winter, I started to enjoy it.

To the OP, it's hard to say whether one would like a particular fragrance or not. Only you would know after sampling it. I rarely blind buy, but when I do, it certainly wouldn't be for a $300 bottle (that's the going rate of 100ml of TV).

Regarding the number of sprays of TV, I think two sprays is sufficient (three if you're mainly going to be outside & it's cold). Its projection and longevity is pretty powerful.

Speaking of tobacco frags, I'm very curious to see how Tabacco by Odori is like. It's definitely on top of my to-sample list.

Good advice from everyone so far.

Based on your likes, I think you'll like this one quite a bit. One spray on each side of the neck and you'll be set all day. Don't go heavy on this one.

Since you like Back to Black, you may enjoy TV.

About 8 sprays is good enough.

If I wore 8 sprays of TV, I'd probably suffocate.. After two sprays, it becomes almost overwhelming on me.

Why be so conservative? Go for two 250ml flacons. You'll eventually use it all, right?
I like Back to Black much better. In fact I don't like TV at all, which is odd because I like almost eveything with vanilla in it. To me, TV smells like a cheapo, poorly-executed Chinese copy of what it was supposed to smell like.
