Gucci Pour Homme II - Smells like vinegar?

I recently bought a bottle of GPHII after having a small sample of it for a week and loving it. I still loved it for the first couple of weeks when I got a bottle of it however just recently it seems to smell really vinegary to me, and I'm not finding it as pleasant as when I first had it.

Problem is it's hard to remember if this vinegary smell was there before and I just didn't notice it or if it's something up with my bottle or what. It's weird because I can still smell what I initially liked about the fragrance, but with this vinegar that has made itself known. Has anyone else had this issue, or noticed a 'vinegaryness' to it?

have not either

I could probably train my nose to pick up that note you describe, but the wonderful tea based note is very dominating.

It's funny, I don't get that aspect to it, but the first time I wore it my girlfriend asked why I smelled like pickles.

No vinegar note sensed either, though this scents is slightly more acidic, "dry" in comparison to both scents from the same fragrance house and also in comparison to designer releases contemporary to this, but its moderate acidity never gets (at least, to my nose) too pungent or anywhere near vinegar.

Yeah the acidity and pickle comments make sense to me. There's still a lot I like about the fragrance, perhaps the best thing would be to have a break from it for a while and go back to it.

Never smelled a pickle note.

It is in my top 5 all time tho!

I don't get that.

Perhaps its the bergamot note that gives it that sour smell, and GPHII would have been perfect if it had a LITTLE BIT less bergamot.

But vinegar, no.

OMG I thought it smelled like pickle juice too! Very weird, I thought I was the only one.

Funny thing is that a buddy of mine gave me the rest of his bottle after he got sick of it, and I didn't find pickle juice with this one.

Weird

Vinegar? Pickles? This stuff must love my skin then.

Spray it on paper and smell it, it could be something with your skin chemistry
