I purchased this scent cheap, from someone wanting to down size their collection. I love Serge Lutens, so I thought I'd love, or at least like, Bas de Soie. I bought it blindly last summer, and after trying it, it seem to be too much in the summer heat. When the weather cooled, I tried it again with better results. Still there was something about it I just couldn't grasp. It's a nice scent, but now I'm feeling that it's just too stuffy for me: too formal, too grey....too, cold. It's very "hazy", but in a chilly, overcast way....so unlike Gris Clair which has some "sunshine" in it's make up. (I should of purchased that one instead!)
When I think of the worst blind buys I've made, Bas de Soie is at the head of the line. I may keep it, just to remind me not to leap before looking.
