Musk with better projection and longevity than Kiehl's?

Hi, I tried Kiehl's musk edt and oil today and I like it. Problem is, it wears very close to the skin and fades quickly. Can anyone suggest another high quality musk that might project better and last longer? I've tried Ramon Monegal's Agar Musc, which I also like, but I'm open to other suggestions!

I'm a fan of Kiehls, MKK, MR, and Urban Musk and I kind of like the way they stay close to the skin. I wear for myself and doubt I'd appreciate them as much if they were projection beasts all too easily over-applied. I will say that I am also a fan of Chaps (original) and get mostly a musky vibe from it -- it projects quite a bit more, relatively speaking.

As far as Kiehls, if longevity is an issue for you, I'd highly recommend using the body lotion before applying the edt &/or oil.

For projection issues, maybe applying on exposed skin, clothing surfaces, or hair. However, if you're looking for something 'like' Kiehls that has markedly amped-up projection, you may very well find it in some of the middle east attars / mukallaths: e.g. Ajaml Musk Gazelle, and some with names like Macca Musk, Darbur, Majmua, etc. In my general experience, these explode with musky projection -- I often use but micro specs.

Thanks for all the useful advice. Not sure I want real musk or attars as I heard it's cruel the way they farm the animals? What are MKK and MR by the way? I don't know those abbreviations. Thanks!

Kiehl's musk is on the dirty side to my nose, so I second Musks Koublai Khan for another suitably dirty one. Low sillage isn't bad with dirty musks, but I agree you do want persistence. I also second Kurkdjian APLS, also dirty but more spicy and refined. Musc Ravageur is musky up top, but then becomes smooth and spicy.

As for real animal musk, you should not worry - it's not being used in modern perfumery. Not for ethical concerns, but simply because it would be prohibitively expensive. Perhaps it's only in super-upscale attars (ie those that cost >$100 per ml).

I just found I had an unused sample of this. It reminds me of Mona di Orio's Ambre.
