Cool, but sunny Tirrenco opens up with dry, bitter orange peel and a very stark ouzo (or, if you prefer, vodka infused with fennel bulb). There's an undercurrent of salty detritus, washed up on a...
Last year I purchased "4711 - Melissa & Verbena" and was mind blown about the freshness and how long it would last. Last week I saw the whole range of 4711 on sale and immediately wanted to buy...
I enjoyed this fragrance because it is very unique and has amazing performance. Something I've never noticed in a fragrance that I do with this one is there are a couple of notes that "fight"...
This was a blind buy when I was looking for a wood scent, primarily for winter wear. I was taken a little buy surprised by the powerful blast of lemon at the outset. That transitions nicely to...
An older classic, that is very wearable compared to most fragrances before 1990 (if you can wear YSL Rive Gauche, you can wear this), but still seems a bit dated, and I'm not sure people under 30...
Has anyone smelled both versions of Le Labo's Patchouli 24? What are--if any--the differences between the two? I'm a little concerned about the safflower oil used in the perfume oil.
I have not tried their perfume oil base, but I have tried their massage/bath oil, and it has no off notes, quite rich and long lasting. (Interesting that they now have also the body cream for patch 24-they didn't last year)
I prefer the perfume oils. I tested the EDP. It does not seem to give as much power and smokiness. Ditto for the other fragrances--they somehow seem weaker. I prefer the perfume oils in the Le Labo scents for this reason.
I suggest you sample the oils and see which you prefer.

A few days after my post I went to Le Labo, and I prefer the edp (at least for Parchouli 24). To me, the perfume oil lacks the edp's wonderful green brine note.
