False Reputation of 1 Million - Who Started All This Hype?

I usually have poor longevity out of most fragrances.
After reading all those reviews, I had high hopes for 1 Million.
All in vain!

This is a mild fragrance.. Yes it has good projection for the first 30 minutes, but after that only above average longevity as a skin scent.

It is no where near that sillage bomb!
Givenchy Pi, Fuel for Life, Spicebomb, Dior Homme Intense and even 212 VIP from my shelf easily beats this!

I believe it is reputation comes from people who experiences it on teens who over-apply (10+ sprays).

The only other possibility is that there are different formulations produced in different factories.. And perhaps they are selling a low quality batch in my country.. Because I'm 100% sure that this is not a fake juice. I bought it from a reputable perfume shop and tried it in others.. This is absolutely a mild scent!

I you really own and wear this cologne, please share your thoughts..

It has excellent longevity on my skin, 10 hours or so. (and i usually have longevity issues due my dry skin). Any chances that you might have got a fake 1 million?

Well there's your answer. It could either be your skin or some sort of anosmia.
I had it for a while and my experience was the same. It is good but not a monster at all. A*men on my skin easily beats 1 million when it comes to both projection and longevity. But I got 8 hours of longevity from the million.

I'm sure it is not fake!

Yes I've poor longevity out of most, but as I said before, many fragrances in my wardrobe beats this one! Perhaps it is anosmia.. But other people do not seem to smell it too.

I do not say that it is a weak fragrance, but it is not potent either! You can feel it after 5-6 hours, but only faintly.

At least tell me this:

Is it normal Givenchy Pi or Fuel for Life beating 1 Million by far in terms of longevity?
For me, this scent has always been and still is a longevity bomb. And while I never tried Fuel for Life, about Givenchi Pi I can assure that (at least, from what I know, thus strictly based on my own experiences) it can indeed equal or even outdo One Million in terms of longevity.

This scent has average longevity for me.

For the first 3 hours it's very strong, for the next 5 it's still noticeable, for whatever time after that it's a bonus. If you think 1 Million is weak then you need to go out in the garage and douse yourself in gasoline. Just don't light up a cigarette.

1 Million is one of my best fragrances as far as longevity. And I say that as someone who wears alot of "powerhouse" frags.
A false reputation because it doesn't do well for you?

I see.
It's an absolute beast with huge sillage/longevity. I still smell it on my shirts after washing them. Along with Kouros the strongest frag I've tried.
If Spicebomb and Fuel for Life are outperforming your 1 Million, there is either something very strange going on with your skin, or you have a fake. 1 Million should be much stronger than those 2.
I own Spicebomb and DHI and used to own 1 Million.

1 Million projected far more than the other two do now IMO.

1 Million. The name refers to its half-life.
Must be your skin.
I have found 1 Million to have poor longevity and sillage. It does well in the first 30 minutes but then its gone.
It projects like those stack chimneys for 10 hours straight killing your cells.

Guys mine is not fake..

But I'm seriously suspicious that there are different international versions..

After somebody comparing 1 million to Kouros (which is a beast even I'm afraid of), I'm sure what I own is some low quality batch
I'm sure it is not fake because I bought from a huge retailer, where I buy all my fragrances.. And I also tested it in some other shops..

My skin is notorious for fragrances having poor
longevity on it, but no complaints with this scent.

If only...sometimes it just keeps going and going...

In order for it to be generally likable by the wearer and those around him, I personally would expect projection to be average so not to choke people and therefore they end up disliking it. But it also depends on how sensitive the nose is I guess.
The test you need to do, is 30 minutes in, when it dies off for you, ask someone else how close they have to be to you to be able to tell you are wearing fragrance.
doesn't last on my skin either compared to DHI
and Pure Malt is another disappointment for me which people say is a beast..

1 million can and will choke you and everyone else out if you over apply, though

There are so different, in fact, opposite reports of it's longevity, that i've come to the conclusion, that Paco Rabanne has been reforumulated. I (who have excellent longevity with it) bought my bottle quite soon after it was launched.
